I wouldn't mind a month in O2 myself. Singing along with him.

    Some day.

The american sports event in august is a special event. This should be cancelled.

Its in the 1992 planning application three special events e.g. concerts. Anything more and they need an even licence.

The american sports event is non gaa and is a special event.

The american football game was the first organised out of everything. No it should not be cancelled.

what if they organised a GAA match before the monday and tuesday concerts and then classified the music as just extra entertainment? Would that get around the sports/concerts planning stipulations?
Eh? Even allowing for that type of thinking (the type of bypassing laws/rules), are you expecting Coker to dismantle the stage, host a match, and then rebuild the stage for two nights?

Ah sure we might as well play the All Ireland before hand to suit him...

How could they, the stage and gear would be set up on the pitch, unless they had a game of tiddly winks and said this was a new GAA sport :D

But it's a sports event. In a sports stadium. No licence needed. Such as when rugby and soccer were played. Because they were sports. Taking place in a sports stadium.

with all the money being generated by these concerts they coudl well have thrown affected residents 5 or 10 thousand euro each for their troubles and disruption during the concerts,And with Brooks not being so big now in USA its a matter of greed on his 5 or nothing at all shows,he was satisfied with 2 at first, but public demand for tickets was so great he got 5, one thing now is, no way would he sell out 5 consecutive nights in usa

Am.........He's just finished a 3 year residency in Vegas... and he didn't struggle to sell tickets! so your comment about him "not being so big now in USA" is a load of crap!

Strange that, considering his Vegas shows were sold out for months recently and it was just him and a guitar. You could of course be talking utter rubbish but I'd hate to imply that.

how do you gauge this?

he's one of the biggest selling artists in US history....

he hasn't played proper gigs or released anything in well over a decade so how can you establish his popularity now?
his Vegas shows were hugely popular.

I think your figures are off by a fair bit.
    Lets say 1000 residents (a low figure) x €5,000 = €5,000,000
    Ain't gonna happen.

Plus GB has been doing quiet well in Vegas, so he's still a big enough of a draw for fans.

    How big was the venue?
How many gigs did he do?

Where did I call you bitter?..

It was announced around same time as 1D, it also is a sports event, what the stadium is designed for, sports!

now, I wouldn't be sure about that.
Being in the southern part of the US recently, country music is extremely popular - radio and TV stations dedicated to the genre.
But as someone already mentioned, apart from the States and Ireland, you wouldn't find many places that his popularity would be that big.
Surely when he will do his world tour, he will be able to sell out concerts around teh world, but in most cases I'd expect one concert per city and probably smaller venues - maybe in the 30-40k capacity. . .which is not too bad, I reckon.

2025 gigs: Selofan, Alison Moyet, Wardruna, Gavin Friday, Orla Gartland, The Courettes, Nine Inch Nails, Rhiannon Giddens, New Purple Celebration, Nova Twins

It is indeed a sports event... A Special sports event as GAA have called it, which also needs approval from DCC i'm sure
