Ah feck, the US deserved more for their effort. That turned into such an exciting game extra time.

Holland vs Spain begs to differ, great match though. :P

I'm going to call it now. Belgium will be in the World Cup final.

There is a startling efficiency about them. They start off slowly but gradually turn the screw and eventually put away their opponents. If they can starve Messi of possession, I believe they will win.

Nah, it was pretty poor over 90 minutes. Extra time was exquisite though. Game of the tournament has to be either Germany-Ghana or USA-Portugal. Honourable mention to Croatia-Mexico and Australia-Netherlands

They didn't have the heart /pride that this game had, Spain just folded. The us never gave up.

That's what makes a good game.

No they won't, not a hope in hell.
As for Fellaini, he is a joke.

They will be out next game.

agreed, Belgium have been under-performing. They were good in this game but in their group games they were stagnant. With the talent they have, they should be trashing people. Once they come up against a better opponent they will fail big time

It's sad cause i thought they would be awesome this WC

    Chile v Brazil was great
    As was France v Nigeria
    And Argentina v Nigeria
    And Italy v England

Been quality world cup in truth and usually these only get good from quaters on :D

Thought Brazil-Chile was the best game myself. Definitely best half in the first, timid enough second half but the intense pressure in ET and penos was something to behold.

Any game the US played seemed to be a cracker. They're a great team to watch - really enjoyed their game v Portugal.

That's one of the reasons I wanted them to go through. They've been great to watch and Belgium have been very boring so far.

Has it not been 154 goals? Or have I filled in my WC Chart wrong?

The 2014 World Cup has, through Monday, featured a total 150 goals scored – not including penalty shootouts http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2014/07/01/the-2014-world-cup-is-on-pace-to-be-one-of-the-best-ever/

Doesn't include yesterdays I suppose. I haven't been keeping track of goals, just searched online. Fifa doesn't give a total count, pretty crap on the statistics front if you ask me.

I entered all the results in a spreadsheet and it gives a total of 154.

(I previously entered USA-POR as 2-1, such was the lateness of Portugal's equalizer, hence the discrepancy.)

Yeah I went looking myself on their site, will tell you how many goals scored by each player and country and if they were right foot, left foot or head but nothing about total goals

I heard eyebrows Cunningham was getting slagged on the radio over his pre game comments regarding Tim Howard.

He didn't look too happy on tv last night after the game either, I wouldn't think it's a good idea to start rising him. He looks like a man who can handle himself.

Maybe Dunphy will push him too far live on air one of these days. Would make for entertaining viewing. :D

I think he said Howard was a weak link, then Howard went on to make a record 15 saves in a World Cup game! :pac:
