You gotta feel sorry for the Swiss. If only that last rebound had come at the right angle.

Oh ffs, Kenny Cunningham is on

Or as Trevor Welch once called him during an Ireland game years ago, Cunny Kenningham :pac:

Can't stand any of the commentators on RTE, watching it on the Beeb.

Brad and Didi are great. Kenny just seems to be looking for a fight with Brad.

I prefer Shearer (probably for old times sake :pac:) and Rio.

I am happy to see both my teams are still in the soccer ball tournament.

Can someone please tell me,If they continue to win, at what stage would Argentina and Germany meet?

Thought I might support US but after that obnoxious piece of flag-waving I'll have to go for the Belgians...

It was 12/1 at start of tournament for them to meet in the final, I won't lie I had a bit of a 'tickle' at those odds

Vincent Kompany is such a hottie.

Still though, I'm definitely hoping that USA win.

Is the commentary 5 seconds ahead of pictures on RTE?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,601 ✭✭✭OldRio

RTE sound engineers never fail to disappoint. How many times does this happen. I remember last year watching Pro12 rugby. An Irish team playing a game in Wales and the sound was 5 seconds ahead of the picture.

    Pure sh1te RTE

I'd be amazed if it was. The RTE commentary is usually stuck in the 80's.

USA could nick this, they are playing as a team Belgium strikers seem to be out for glory.

World Cup useless information trivia: If Belgium go through this will be the first time all eight group winners will be in the quarter finals since the round of 16 was introduced in 1986, example: four years ago Ghana were group runners-up and got to the quarter finals, there are other examples like Italy finishing third in the group (behind Ireland) yet making it to the final in 1994.

Penalty shoot out on the way?

    Wasn't 8 groups only introduced in '98?

Don't think so. It seems inevitable Belgium will score. If not in ninety minutes, extra time.
