I remember going through a period around 89/90 where I thought the round headlights on Mk 2 Golfs looked old fashioned.

I remember thinking at the time - why don't they (VW) use the Jetta grill and headlights instead.

Now though - im glad they didn't because the round headlights were a nice distinctive feature which survived the change over from Mk 1 to Mk 2 Golf.

    *cough cough*

Google Westmoreland MK2 golf or the Rallye (which was something a little special)

    EDIT: As Gvidor pointed out.

US spec Golfs got Jetta front ends didn't they?

As cool as the MK2 Raylle is, it always reminded me of something from Max Power magazine with the flared arches :P

Bp, colm, pickles, went to see that golf I showed ye..... problem being that the ABS light is on...

It's been there a while alright, but he claims he would have sold it 5 or 6 times over, the reason being that it's mainly young lads that have looked at it and when it comes to getting insured on it... that puts an end to the buying. (130 6 speed sport)

He said that he's going to check out the ABS light and I'd get back to him if I'm interested.

If I was to buy it would be fully serviced, fresh NCT, full Valet, new tyres....

    What about the R32? V6 4mo? 150pd ?

Probably a wheel speed sensor alright, but if it was me i'd like to see the scan results. Do you have a link to the car? There is no such thing as a GT TDI.

I would love to own a V6 MK4 but it's the road tax that I can't deal with (right now especially)

Probably the same reason for Kaiser.

I don't mind paying 2.8 or 3.0 tax on something thats actually, you know, not a Golf.

But yeah, thats the reason, tax.

    Righto lads, listen up.

I've had confirmation that the actuaries coming up with the quotes for premiums have "changed how they're applying discounts / calculating premiums". Now, they have used the new discount rates being advertised (60%, 28% off the remainder), to work backwards and calculate the base premium. So rather than risk analysis based on the details you input being used to calculate the base premium - Essentially, the base premium has been artificially inflated for the sake of advertising purposes showing huge discounts, despite a net result in an increased premium. This has happened across the board and will affect everyone with Liberty.

I'm awaiting a call back from their underwriting dept. to see what the best they can come up with is. However, it's starting to look like a good time to jump ship - for everyone.

Not happy...The garage nominated to do the repairs are saying it could be September before they fix the car as their parts guy said he has to order from Japan, also they said since its so far off they want me to give them the money first then they will refund when the insurance pay.

Very good info there, is this just with liberty ye?

Would it be very simplistic of me to say this might have something to do with the whole Big American Corporation thing? God I miss Quinn...

I'd be demanding a much superior rental car until you get yours back.

Tell them the Corsa just doesn't suit your needs long-term at all.

Insurance pays.... its their contract etc. Id force that and also demand a better rental.

Not your fault parts arent here. Your being left out of car etc very big in convenience .
