    really want this corrolla http://cars.donedeal.ie/vintagecars-for-sale/vintage-and-classis/7170994

I rang your man and he said he bought it off a neighbour and put a fair bit of money into it. I'd say he'd take 900/1000 euro at the moment...
Offered him 6 but he said it's to low and that he spent more than that on it.

IIRC that was up for €2k a while ago?

He said that he thought he'd get 1500 for it if he fixed it up. Genuine mistake by the sounds of it.

Ah right. €1500 is a bit rich so I reckon he'll sit on it for a while and the price will slowly drop.

Worth watching that tbh, it would be a lovely buy.

    Not exactly.

Hopefully I will get with the engine I want to avoid engine swap. :)

It would, not sure by how much though. 800 would probably be as far as I'd go depending on what sort of shape it's in mechanically.

I'm looking also at high miler 2.0 diesels with short NCT's for around the same 1000 euro price, the corolla is probably a cheaper way to go though.

Are you looking to buy a Bora with that engine in it ? Will be nice but hard got, the seem even rarer than the V6 and V5 variants.

    Not a Bora exactly.

There are 2x 20V Boras for sale. Like I said, the car I want is not on DoneDeal right now. :pac:

Golf with a bora front = Bolf.

Bora with golf front = Gora.

I liked the Mazda 3 I found. Was on the road to the dealer this morning. Rang him to let him know I was on the way. "Sorry, it sold already".

    Pain in the ass :(

If i had a euro

The amount of cars i fell in love with only to get "she's just gone out the door!"

Also I got this today :D

And both are probably the most ridiculous things to ever grace the roads since the Austin Princess.

That's a bit harsh... they are ridiculous because of a bit of hand-work put into them? What if they came like that from the factory?

Also worse that Fiat Multipla, Nissan Micra, Hyundai Accent, etc. ?? I don't think so.

Not really. They're ridiculous because they look ridiculous. Would a Nissan Micra front end look good on a Skyline?

Worse than all of the above, imo.

The Bora front end improves the Mark IV Golf no end IMO.

    And then theres this....

    clint_ew.gif

    Exactly, it would not.

They're two different cars, they should not make a baby nor should the Golf/Bora.

    All IMO, of course.

But the difference is that Bora and Golf are pretty much the same car. They have the same chassis and engines. Bora is just a saloon version of the Golf.

Done properly it can look good, like with a bit of work you could probably graft s15 lights onto my 9-5 because of the shape of them, or what they do with s14/15 headlights, I seen another one where some guy but bora headlights on a mk3 fiesta and it suited it well, but then you see some and well yeah

Yes, okay, but I still think it looks absolutely ridiculous. Maybe its because I'm just used to seeing the correct front end on each car though.

If you like it, then do it of course, but I was just saying, I think it looks ridiculous.

Are the Micra and skyline built on the same chassis ? with the same fittings and fixtures? :D

I'm not really into either to be honest but Goras look awful. A bolf estate is a thing of beauty though when done right, it gives us the chance to own something VW never gave us in RHD a Bora Variant.

I would have swapped my bora for an equivalent Bora estate in a heartbeat.

This is the most ridiculous car slogan I have ever seen (for an equally ridiculous car actually)

The new Jeep cherokee ads "Built free..." that's also ridiculous. I think they watched old re runs of Born free and decided to change Born for Built. I would imagine the look and last like the were built for free though :D

The Bora front end improves the Mark IV Golf no end IMO.

I remember going through a period around 89/90 where I thought the round headlights on Mk 2 Golfs looked old fashioned.

I remember thinking at the time - why don't they (VW) use the Jetta grill and headlights instead.

Now though - im glad they didn't because the round headlights were a nice distinctive feature which survived the change over from Mk 1 to Mk 2 Golf.
