Of course its not just you, most people would find it grasping and most people I know would operate on the assumption that they're solely responsible for their financial future.

But if she's been led to believe she'll have no money worries on a number of occasions, it might be understandable for her to seek clarification. As I said, it can be interpreted either way and I'm usually inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt, even if I don't like their approach to things.

You do see the odd bit of lunacy defending Jimmy Savile and insisting he didn't do it, because it's women who alleged he abused them, and women can't be trusted, and Savile was an oppressed white, christian man.

I'm keeping my Rolf memorabilia. Rolf basically got me into animation and animals, and I am a fan of his wonderfully eccentric songs. These allegations have only slightly soured my love for him.

Here's why, yes the man has been convicted and found guilty, but we should judge the art not the artist.
Suddenly finding out something horrible about their pasts should not, if you are a sensible individual in control of your own emotions, encourage you to pretend that you never liked anything they did, go 'off on one' about it on public forums and in newspapers, or, in the extreme case, get into shops and smash their work up. Such behaviour not only achieves nothing, but borders on zealotry. Admittedly, it's all very easy to get caught up in the furore while it's going on, but if you stand back from the tapestry, which we will all do in a few years, then a clearer view should become apparent. Not that we can 'forgive', but we can move on.

On television, the films of OJ Simpson are in regular syndication, and yet we know he is a jailed killer. You can also go into shops and buy the work of Ike Turner, a drug-taking, thieving, wife-beating, thoroughly despicable individual, yet his records are still bought and you can still hear them being sung on karaoke nights. Leslie Grantham is a convicted murderer, and yet we watched and (in some cases) loved him every week in EastEnders. Goodness knows what they were involved in, but we still enjoy their work, and so we should of Rolf. Our opinion may have changed of him as a person, but we should remove his work, at least, not forever, because he has written in my opinion some of the most entertaining, charming songs and acts. And his Stairway to Heaven is possibly the greatest parody of a song ever created. He may be sick, but his work is certainly not, and should be enjoyed by generations to come.
