Is anyone else finding the live leaderboard on pgatour.com very erratic tonight? It works fine for a while, but when I try to refresh it, it disappears and it takes several attempts to get it back again. If you have suffered from this problem, have you found a way around it?

just switched it on the box there and play suspended again! not sure how long for, so maybe that was the problem

Really doesn't look like they will get back out today - course flooded. It will be a struggle to finish this thing by Sunday and many of the players will be anxious to get to pinehurst.

Round 2 resuming at 1 pm (7am local), the weather is supposed to improve for the weekend so hopefully everyone will get their 2nd and 3rd rounds completed.

Another hour delay this morning due to fog. They are not having much luck!

Ugh, so we see the leaders tee off and that's the end of the coverage for the night.

Got to start paying more attention to Ben Crane's golfing tips after that win

Now I've heard it all! Colin Montgomerie has just come out with something along the following lines: "Kaymer is in a very difficult position. He has everything to lose and nothing to gain". Really? How about a 2nd major?

Ya, but you're nobody until you win a senior major!!! :)

Kaymer is just killing time until he's 50 ;)

Anyone else delighted that Patrick Reed completely blew that tournament yesterday??

Good win for Rose, someone who I also find hard to like when he's playing golf, but off the course seems like a nice guy.

    Why the delight?

Can't stand his arrogance in saying he was a top 5 player!! Fair enough he was on a great streak but you just can't go around saying you are better than guys who are ahead of you on the rankings without actually backing that up.

No doubting his talent just glad he got his cummupins over the last few months!

He was after winning his third comp in a short space of time and had barely walked off the green (if even, I think the interview was on the green) when he was nabbed for that interview.
He must have been pumped and on cloud nine, very hard to be composed after suck a streak and seconds after sinking another winning putt.

It's certainly something to be joked about imo, but to be delighted about him failing is one hell of a grudge to hold on a guy.

Butch, Jack and a few other respected figures have all said it was a rather silly and naive comment, but kept the situation in mind. They all added that they believe he's a decent young lad.

Interview any top golfer before a pro event and they'll tell you they can win it..... Only one every does.
Does that mean the rest are arrogant p.....?

That's a disgusting attitude to have, personally if given the choice I'd prefer to be an arrogant SOB like Reed than somone who wishes ill of another and then revels in it.

I have no problem with a guy saying he is going to win an event, I am completely tuned in to that positive thinking malarkey;)

My problem was him saying that he thought there was only about 3/4 players better than him.

No matter how naïve, I think it will take a long time for me to recover from this arrogance. He really is a good player, great though? In the same league as Adam Scott? Not yet!

Do you ever wish for a soccer or rugby team to lose and for one you support to win ? Similar thing. We don't know these pros from Adam and support or dislike them for reasons that may make no sense at all if we did know them.

I thought about your statement but I remember in 2008 when Harrington won the PGA, I was hoping that Sergio would fall back a little when Harro was on the charge.

I wasn;t wishing ill of Reed and if he was at the irish open last week I wouldn't have been giving him abuse but similar to Mikko Illonen I was applauding his good play but would have much preferred has GMAC converted his chances.

That point generally pivots around support for one team over another though and is based on rivalry rather than pure begrudgery.

Golf cannot be equated to football or rugby in this sense imo. With those, you are part of a "clan". A clan that will suffer if a rival clan win. I don't think the Patrick Reed supporters club would have been taunting us if he didn't SLIP UP (:)) yesterday.

That doesn't hold up in my eyes, when Katie Taylor wins, we are all part of it! Is this not the same as golf?

No one taunts anyone outside of football, maybe a bit of banter but not taunting.

Taunt: poke fun at, jibe, mock.
It can mean the same thing as that word you use, I choose not to use that word as I'm not a fan of it.

Was has Katie Taylor and winning got to do with it?
Of course we all rejoice when that happens. We have something to support there. An attachment to the person winning.

You are rejoicing about some guy that lost a tournament.
You weren't delighted Rose beat him. You were delighted Reed blew it.
There was no support involved just anti support.

You're previous points re Illonen & GMac and Paddy & Sergio are not the same either. In each case you are supporting someone with a connection.

Of course most of us would will GMac to win, the same for Paddy & Katie... There is support involved.

And all this anti support for Reed is based on a comment he made in haste.
At that moment in time he was probably in the Top 5 golfers in the world "in form".
The world rankings didn't say so, but they aren't perfect. I wouldn't consider Tiger to be top 5 at present but he's still there due to an imperfect system.

You've also said that you've no problem with guys thinking they are going to win an event. So you've no problem with 100 plus guys thinking they can beat Adam Scott on any given week... But a big problem with "positive attitude malarkey" when someone comes out and says it?

@Parlance, you make a fair point above. I agree that I shouldn't revel in someone's disappointment, I am in no way like that normally, just the arrogance got me as did Ian Poulter all those years ago when he was claiming him and Tiger were the top 2 golfers in the world.

I agree that I am rejoicing in the fact that he lost, whether the comment was in haste or not is irrelevant. What Sergio said last year about fried chicken was racist whether it was implied or not...........

Now to avoid your posts growing by 40 characters :pac: each time, shall we agree to disagree.

Did anyone see the bulls**t free line of sight relief Stefani got on the playoff hole? Was a bit ridiculous IMO. Also.. I would have thought playing from his original position would have been an easier shot.

Here is a clip *Edit* Clip deleted

Crazy relief to get alright, but what a stupid decision really though, surely as they were suggesting, a SW over the trees to short of the green was a much safer option?

I think Feherty was exaggerating when he first said it would only be a wedge. He had about 160yrds to the middle of the green. Regardless, as you say, I thought going over the trees would have been a much better option. A little bit of justice perhaps for the bogus relief.

He would never have been going at the green from where he was but yeah prob a PW to short and play the chip and run over that ridge.

That hole is very like Fota's 18th, I love those semi-island type greens that are so tight.

Yeah it's mad alright. Lots of confidence now heading to Hoylake. He was 7th there last time out.
