A month or two ago, I would've bought that. That's a lovely interior. Nice place to spend time.

I'm very very tempted by it, exact spec I was looking for, looks immaculate too. Looks like it may be time to look at loans again :)

Jury's still out on it.... seen three candidates in that colour

What's the proper name for it?

Is this the same colour, I'm blind :o

    2ibm2ie.jpg

It's Blue Anthracite. My MkIV was that colour with the GTI alloys as well. Very nice combo on the IV probably the nicest colour if I do say so myself. :P

Father has it in his car and it's a great engine for what it is. In what way was it bad?

The acceleration is terrible I think myself anyway.

It boosts from about 1500 to 2300 then nothing. Like an old diesel where you complain of no power etc. But yet it will rev to 4500 before going into the red.

Not the economical either I think compared to my 1.6hdi engine tbh.

If you think that's bad, my mechanic lent me a 2000 Hyundai Accent 1.3 while my car was in for a service :-((((((

Yeah, a work colleague got this today. Parking attendant point blank refused to accept that she was wrong too and that he had 4 minutes of parking left. She said it was a fixed penalty that can't be undone despite her being in the wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Did he get to the car between 3:11 and 3:15 PM?

...and the parking attendant wrote the ticket at 3:11 PM assuming that he wont make it back in time?

He was walking to the car as she was writing it up.
He had to chase after her and get her to stop, she would not even look at him.

I thought she wrote it because she thought he wouldn't be back in time, it says 3:11 and everything even thought the ticket was valid till 3:15.

He's doing that, rang up in work and everything already.

They seemed quite puzzled by the whole scenario themselves, even after seeing the photo.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. I guess she was too lazy to go back in check after a few minutes.

    1.6Tdci :(

Are there issues with that engine in the Mondeo?? Looks good economy wise

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,756 ✭✭✭comongethappy

Air conditioning offer - Pilsen Motors Ballymount - €49.

Just thought I'd share the above in case any Skoda driver in Dublin isn't aware.

We got out Yeti's air con replenished on Wednesday, very happy with the outcome.

As well as the air conditioning, they also washed & hoovered the car aswell as a vehicle check.

Quite happy with that for €49.
The car is wonderfully chilly again.

My dad has a 13 reg 1.6TDCi Mondeo as a Company Car. Engine crapped out on him a few weeks ago with about 60K on it. If I remember correctly the injectors had to be replace. This would've cost about 5-600 I think but obviously the company covered it. Other than that he finds it pretty good, it's very refined and quiet for a diesel.

He finds it less economical than his previous 1.9TDi Superb Mk2 and that's even with 10hp more and less weight to drag around.
