long handicap tournaments

    As I golf fan I have started to play a bit lately aswel. I see in clubs long handicap competitions. From googling it I cannot find the rules or what qualifies you to play a long handicap competition. So please put me out of my misery and tell me what a long handicap competition involves? Thanks

    Usually handicap of 18 or more.
