Aldi traveler film scanner

    I am currently scanner lots of old 25mm film slides witht his scanner, and they all look a bit dull. any alternatives? price range is around 100 euro

    If you have a DSLR you could make a homemade film scanner,the results i get are a lot better than any of a normal flatbed scanners results.

    digtelrev have a video on making one, and if you don't have a macro lens you could buy some extension tubes usually no more than €20.

    Canoscan 9000f?

    The MKII model costs about €220, but you can find the MKI for a lot less. And they're completely identical - only the software changed.

    You can also pick up the 9000f's predecessor, the 8800, pretty cheap these days. It won't be as good, but it will probably be an improvement over what you have.

    You should also try using vuescan software (even with your Aldi scanner, if it's compatible) to see if that gives you better results. It won't overcome the technical shortcomings of your scanner, but it should give you better colour.

    No, but you can download a demo version, and the full version only costs $35

    My first recommendation would be a new scanner, though.
