Competitive games are few and far between

Yes, remainder of World Cup and Copa America next year that's all.

He isn't far off that level at the minute! I mean how does he manage it? 2 World Cups in a row the most hated and controversial figure in them!

Last world cup made him a hero.

very true, forgot about the handball. He just brings trouble on himself time an time again

Nobody would've given a ****e if it wasn't a poor African side (bless their little cotton socks).

Nobody gave a toss that Phil Neville handled it off the line in a Merseyside Derby. The only difference is that Dirk Kuyt is the man and Gyan is crap.

Gary Linekar had his glasses on and some rules in front of him. He said there was a possibility of a two year ban.

Did he just say a 2 year ban or a two year ban from all football? What I've seen is up to 2 years from international football, a maximum of 24 games. I didn't see Lineker talking about it.

I can't imagine getting a ban at international level would carry across to the club game. The clubs seek compensation for players injured on international duty as it stands. Losing them to bans for behaviour would surely enrage them further.

He won't play for Uruguay for the forseeable future.

Can we not just make him wear a gumshield like they do in Rugby?

Handling a ball in the 1/4 final of a world cup to help your team is bloody brilliant, not something to be scorned.

If Liverpool were in the same position I'd be sickened if a player didn't do it. Always makes me laugh when this topic is brought up as something to knock Suarez with.

Kanchelkis did it in a league cup final for Utd. Keane did it for Spurs iirc.

I don't think he really made that clear. Has any player ever been banned from domestic and international football?

Overreaction much? Or just the usual crowd sticking the boot in? Pepe headbutted Mueller and got a one match ban! FIFA won't do much more than that, if anything at all.

He got sent off and it wasn't much of a headbutt.

If he really nutted him and, for example, broke his nose, it'd have been at least 5.

Because he wasn't talking about the bite, just the handball.

    Do try and keep up.

That could be a €100 million bite even though I much rather Italian cuisine.

If it happens once, then you can say over reaction.

After 4 or 5 incidents, there is no defending it. All self inflicted.

After his self righteous Speech the other night after knocking out England, the English press are sharpening there knives tonight.
The media backlash will be unrelenting.

He was voted football writers player of the year and it probably galled them, they will looking to seriously stick the boot in.

Hell it doesn't matter what any of us think. Leave that to henry, Rodgers, the sponsors etc.

Seriously, a two year ban? From FIFA? Will never ever happen.

There is precedent for a ban to be extended from club to international, not sure about vice versa. Yer man Navarro who decked someone in a champs league tie, broke their nose.

UEFA suspended Navarro for seven months from European football (it was later reduced to six months); on the 20th, after several appeals to FIFA to allow the ban to cover both domestic and international games, he had his ban applied to all games, ending with the closure of the 2006–07 campaign.

Even with the blinkers off, I tend to agree with you. Why is biting someone more morally outrageous than spitting at, head butting or elbowing someone. They're all an act of aggression in my opinion

    Who mentioned a bite?

His handball in a match had nothing to do with any bite

As I said I'd be disgusted if a Liverpool player didn't do it in a similar circumstance

Some people really need to learn context.

In my experience, people 'offended' by this aren't even offended themselves personally. They're offended on the behalf of someone else, or at least they feel like the should be. Its ridiculous.

Obvious joke is obvious. I know I laughed.

Funny thing is, if Niallo had simply said, "Suarez could drive a bus load of kids off a cliff", you wouldn't bat an eyelid.

    What's fucked up there?

As someone with a disability I think I am personally annoyed at this comment so how about keep your ****ty remarks to yourself. I'm not even offended. I just think it's a dumb thing to say. So you tell me what's ****ed up. Besides your remarks.
