His agent said there is no going back this time, the deal is done.

Seems to have been efficient this time, no drama stories like last year.

    Think he was Portuguese!

Our one was Spanish... There was a Portuguese guy too, saved (with bare hands-legend) and scored peno v England in Euros, never played for united though.

Im not happy with Herrera, im sorry to say I dont have much confidence in him. He will find it extremely hard in the PL too. I hope he proves me wrong but cant see it.

I do like that utd are taking the note out of the likes of R.Madrid and just use the buy it now and get it over with. None of that ****ing nonsense about negotiating. We the 2nd the richest club in the world, spend the cash. Dont be petty over 5-10m like we have done in previous years.

I'm not sure I like this attitude especially when it has created a market-place where David Luiz is worth 50 million. At this rate we may see the first billion pound transfer within the next decade.

    Good point that!

I'm glad to see that we are not penny pinching ala Ronaldinho where we could not cough over the 2-3 mil extra to sign him, if I remember correctly!!!

But yeah I agree, it also sends out a powerful message to other clubs in saying we mean business... Which we really do need to do after last summer!!

But unfortunately that's the way it's gone! Luiz for 50mil, Rooney on 300k.... It's utter madness but we risk getting left behind if we don't throw down a marker

Prize money rises, television money rises - flipside is always going to be that player values and wages rises in tandem. Remember when people called the Zidane and Figo transfers outrageous money. Go back to the first 1m transfer and people said the same.

United aren't paying Rooney near 300k

Yeah that's what I'm saying.. we need to adjust to the Times and not penny pinch

Has the talk of signing Carvalho died off completely then?

Yup, he was a Moyes player so doubt LVG wants him.

Hopefully we haven't bitten off more than we can chew with this Herrera transaction. We don't want to cannibalise our transfer kitty. Hopefully Van Gaal and Woodward can get their teeth into that list of transfer targets once the World Cup is over. We need to pay prospective players better than in-dentured slaves. We need someone who's as hard as enamel for our midfield. The rumoured signings could be savage. I'll celebrate like an animal if they come to fruition. Hopefully the details of future deals will be fleshed out soon.

If there's any bad or embarrassing news relating to the club now is the time to release it. Anything that happens in the next 48 hours will be buried under Suarez-gate III and no one will ever remember it.
