I don't think he did try to jump ship? Anyway, he is not the same as he was a year or 2 years ago. I do think that if we could show we are strengthening, he would give it another year - he is confident enough in his abilities that he'd think "I can always go next summer..."

He was made train away from the first team

But I don't think it was Arsenal he wanted to join, that was my point. He was definately still looking at Spain at that stage, but no offer came...

Do people here really want to spunk £25m + on Adam Llalalalnalala?

I don't think you could begrudge a big move to Spain. He is 28 in January a player of his ability should have won so much more than a League Cup and Eredivisie so far. He joined us after finishing 7th and would be leaving us after bringing us back to the champions league and going so close to the title, not to mention the huge fee he will bring in.

I would be loath to loose our best player since Dalglish but that's life, we replaced Torres with a better player hopefully we can do the same with Suarez.

I reckon Suarez would take a pay cut to play for Barca or Real if he had to, as would most South American players. Couple that with the fact he'd likely be getting a hefty pay rise and be guaranteed medals and I can see him really wanting a move. He's tried it for the last two summers after all.

I reckon Real are more likely to move for him. Barca broke the bank for Neymar less than a year ago - paying even more than Real did for Bale it seems - and have had dodgy tax deals in and around the club as well. I don't think they're able to afford him. Real are always flush and have just won the Champions League.

With Real on the verge of signing Falcao and selling Higuain to Barcelona. Real under an EU investigation for accepting state aid to clear debts, Suarez will be going no-where for this summer at least.

Summer 2015 is when we will be saying goodbye I think.

You would not know which cobblers to believe in the media. Today in The Mail, Dominic King says a Suarez move to Barcelona "seems inevitable" while then going on to say that Suarez has said he wants to stay at Liverpool for another season to experience CL football at Anfield.

Either way this is something that can't be allowed to fester on all Summer as soon as the World Cup ends. Especially when the club is trying to strengthen and bring in new players.

So do we want Uruguay get knocked out so the Suarez stuff can come to ahead quickly or do we want them to stay in the World Cup and for him to be a star so his price will rise?

Tony Barrett had an interesting blog on the matter on the times website. No point in linking it as its behind the paywall now.

Basically he said Suarez is trying to get Barca or Real to bid for him. Allowing his father in law and agent to speak so publicly all but confirms this.

Barrett believes the buyout clause is £80 million. If this is bid then the route to Spain is quite straightforward for Suarez.

He also reckons Suarez would be happy to stay if either of these clubs do not bid for him so he is being careful not to make the same mistakes as last summer when he found himself training away from his teamates.

His recent anger with the English media relates to a headline in the Sun which referenced his biting incident.

There was talk on twitter and caught offside/goal kind of websites yesterday Higuain was about to join Barca.

So we aren't the only club Barca and Madrid try to destabilize with there crap.

I really wish he came out and named the Sun as the one he was talking about.

Agreed and with the way he performed last season, helping a huge way in getting Liverpool back in Europe elite, he's settled any of the bitterness that would spread. Not likely to improve on him mind...80m would help though!

I haven't watched the Dutch League in probably two years, how well has Depay actually come on?

He looked to have all the talent in the World, and a lot of young Dutch players stood out and impressed me then, but he perhaps wasn't getting a tonne of game time then. The two goals in two sub appearances will boost his stock, no doubt, but would he be a good addition, do people think?

If Madrid or Barca come in with 80m, I won't begrudge Suarez a move. Great player for us, one of the best I've ever seen. Both in terms of raw talent, and raw desire and work ethic to win. A marvelously rare combination that's oddly mesmerising to watch. The man has made me laugh like a school girl on many an occasion.

If he does leave, I do hope we can get someone of Sanchez ilk, but we would obviously need more. If Depay has progressed as some were expecting, he could be a great addition. Obviously I'd love, say, Griezmann more, but I wouldn't even get my hopes up with that one.

Only thing with Depay is that we would then have Sterling, Coutinho, and Depay, all young players who will undoubtedly have consistency issues. Its the nature of youth.

Sturridge has his injury matters, and Lambert can't be expected to play 30 games.

We really could have a job on our hands trying to replace Suarez in a relatively sufficient manner.

I realise this post is more thrown together than a traveler call out video, but what can you do. Make of it what you will!

Time to bring up that Shaw v Moreno argument again, I'd say. That was a thriller, and now we have material for a squeal.

Please no. Just tell them what they want to hear and say all players linked or and/or signed by Man U are superior.
