Terry stated numerous times he'd travel to the World Cup if called upon. Huge mistake leaving a player of his quality at home. Cahill and Jagielka are too inexperienced at international level.

The decision to drop Ashley Cole was equally as baffling.

Ashley Cole was dropped by Mourinho and not getting his contact renewed at Chelsea - both Luke Shaw and Leighton Baines had solid seasons in the prem and deserved be in squad.

If Hodgson wanted John Terry in England team he should have been involved in qualifiers - parachuting him into WC squad would been bad for moral imo

Cole is a better left back than Baines IMO. Baines is hugely over rated. He looks all at sea when players run at him. Just because Mourinho dropped him people automatically think he's finished. Let's not forget he banished Juan Mata and Lukaku too.

Shaw has played very little for England, but I do believe he's better than Baines.

Ashley Cole played all but 2 of the qualifying games and he should have played in the WC. He is better than Baines and Shaw, although Shaw has a lot of potential, Cole is still better, has a ton of experience and rarely plays a bad game.

The equator are starting to control this game, in the same way they control the hemispheres.

How in the name of all that is holy are Switzerland ranked 6th in the world? They're just dreadful

Maybe the fact that they lost one match in 19 in the last two years before this match.?

    But they are still muck:pac:

Finally I'll get to see the early game. Stupid work.

I've missed a quite a few of the games, the early and the late ones. I'd like to have it in our own time zone next time and take a few weeks off work :D

The matches will probably be on at 10AM, 1PM and 4PM seeing that it's on in Russia in 2018...

This might be a stupid question but how would you go about winning the most money in today's games by placing a bet?

What do you write on the betting slip?

Say if I go with Argentina, Germany and Bosnia to win. Do I just write down 'accumulator' or what to have the winnings from the first game placed on the second game and so on? :o

Watching the late games was killing me. Was tired. Had to record one or two and get early night. Normal service resumed tonight

It's okay URL you're with friends. I once walked out of a betting shop because I had no idea what I was doing and didn't want to look like a n00b. I didn't even know how to approach the counter, 'yes sir, could I have one of your finest bets please'.

Just write down "X to beat Y" "A to beat B" "Q to beat R" and hand it in :p Works for me anyway :pac:

Ask in the bookies. They're well used to first timers at times like this, Cheltenham etc.

Do you need to stick down the odds at the time too?

It's a slippery slope URL, next thing you'll be giving BJ's for Yankees.

On a coupon the odds are given. Or you can ask to "take the price" and they'll give you the current odds on the receipt.

    "Accum

    World Cup 21/6/14
Argentina, Germany and Bosnia all to win

    €x"

    Simple.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

For talks sake, if I put a tenner on Argentina in the first match, I'd get 11.43 back (including the tenner I bet), does all of that then go on to the next game or just the 1.43?

I was thinking that if I done it that way, if all three teams win my return would be 77.59 after a total 'stake' of 48.10, but I'd really only be betting a tenner to begin with?

If you bet on all three together, your entire winnings from the first game would carry over. You wouldn't be getting anything like 70 quid from a tenner though
