I'm so dense - how are England out?

I thought if either team won today, they'd still be in with a shot?

Has anyone told Dunphy yet that Terry retired two years ago?

    Costa Rica 6
    Italy 3
    Uruguay 3
    England 0

    Costa Rica v England
    Italy v Uruguay

Costa Rica are through as only 1 team of either Uruguay or Italy can catch them - Uruguar or Italy are guaranteed a point which would bring them to 4 points and England would be on 3 if they beat Costa Rica

Thank **** for that. Bloody RTE talk about England more than the English channels do. It gets tiresome quickly.

Have to say I'm delighted for Cunningham after he went for France then Dunphy firmly went for the draw, pretty sure just to spite him..

It has to be said they aren't the only ones looking dire. Number 1 has gone home, number 3 looks fairly average...10 is gone, 9 looked bloody awful this evening and weren't seemingly that bothered about it......

Terry stated numerous times he'd travel to the World Cup if called upon. Huge mistake leaving a player of his quality at home. Cahill and Jagielka are too inexperienced at international level.

The decision to drop Ashley Cole was equally as baffling.
