DAMATURU, Nigeria (AP) — Witnesses say a suicide bomber in tricycle taxi triggered an explosion that blasted a World Cup viewing center in northeast Nigeria, killing several people.

Hospital workers say the death toll likely will rise with 15 people critically wounded and casualties still coming in at Damaturu, state capital of Yobe state.

Boko Haram Islamic extremists have targeted football viewing centers and sports bars in recent weeks, killing at least 40 people in two blasts in northern cities.

FFS this is just terrible. Boko Haram want an Islamic state and don't like soccer because they see it as westernisation, so they kill a load of people watching a match. Where is the sense in that? I suppose it is pointless trying to make any sense out of the actions of an extremist religious group but this is just horrible.

If I were a billionaire or whatever is even bigger than that, I'd build a spaceship and populate it with people like me and push a large asteroid towards earth as I leave and let Allah sort it out.

The extremest Muslim is in fact following a Jewish God. And they in fact are based on even older religions.

Modern regions like to follow what they describe as a new testament and the god there is not considered the God of ages as such and is not followed. The rise of Islam was in response to the Roman Church and what it started doing, Islam rejected it and reinstalled the old values as the new values included sex and wealth and property.
