Should have just went with Chile to score first :pac:

I really hope they go on to win.. Spain aren't deserving of even progressing.

Apparently De Gea was injured. If that isn't true I picking Casillas again was a shocking call.

    LizT.
Think it's time for the Spanish fans to start a rousing rendition of The Fields of Athenry. Show the world they're a great bunch of lads.

Why is Alexei Sayle commentating on the BBC coverage?

The BBC pundits look so ill at ease and uncomfortable when sharing their views.

RTE beats them hands down when it comes to that stuff.

Problem is so, so many of Dunphy and Giles' opinions in particular are unresearched, baseless and often in defiance of all sense or logic.

Say anything approaching interesting on the BBC & the daily mail are on your ass so fast.
Its a network paralysed by fear.

I wouldn't be surprised if every question & answer went through several editorial commitees beforehand.

Only the teams that don't get out of the qualifying groups. It goes up from there

Just noticed Mata & Cazorla are on the bench.

But the Spanish manager's hard-on for Busquets..... sorry, "Sergio" (as per his shirt) somehow continues.

Bringing Torres and starting an unfit Diego Costa are two ridiculous decisions - especially when meant leaving the Juve striker Llorente at home.. then Villa sitting on bench twiddling his thumbs on bench as Torres comes on.. head scracher

Ramos needs to Hulk Up and just start booting the fcuk out of as many Chilean players as he can, get sent off but it would be worth it.

There is some truth to that, but on the other hand the alternative on RTE is someone whose view of football is still stuck in the late 1970s while the other just says s**t for the sake of sensationalism that I don't think he even believes. It would be a lot, lot better with both of them and Bill out the door tomorrow. Den native old boys club.

Hamann and Ardilles offer good input, though personally over the long run I would like to see Sandler take a far more prominent role.

Chile are well deserving of that result. Fair feckin' play to them

    Spain are muck

When you pick players like Torres over Negredo and Llorente you deserve to be beaten.
