Get Gerrard off asap and put on Lampard, switch the line up to 4 3 3 keeping Rooney behind Sterling, Welbeck and Sturridge, come on Engerlund.

If Gerard wilts further I'd have Wiltshire on.
    Tempo is England's best chance.

    And boom...... Another good goal!
    Baines done like a kipper.

    Predictions for the second half?

I think Pirlo will probably light up a cigar and have a bash at a first chapter of his memoirs while pulling the strings for an italian victory
    You sir, are awesome.

The ball got away from Gerard, however that should have been a penalty.

England running at them there and getting something out of it……some the rest of the italians don't seem to be able to move too quick……a less skilful team with a bit of speed and movement could beat them

I had hoped Woy would have the grapes to drop Rooney.

    Alas not so.

    Do or die vs Uruguay.

I just want someone to shave the side of rooneys neck so he has a half normal looking hairline - these are the things that won't keep me up at night

Even though England lost I thought they played pretty well.

    United fan here.

Wish we sold him years ago. Probably the most overrated player in the world.

Kind of agree with you in the first half, maybe a bit of the second half…actually revise that I thought they were total **** in most of the second half - unable to break the italians down….seemed lacking in imagination

The italians used the conditions to their advantage and only put in energy when they were going in for the kill

An great example of RWBs sh*TE punditry.

On ITV, Shearer, Henry and Lineker call a spade a spade. Rooney did not finish some good chances and so cannot be a shoe in for the middle, Sterling was arguably England's best player and gave Italy fits at times, and Storrington scored their goal. It made perfect sense to play Rooney out wide.

In truth, Rooney was one of England's worst players outside of a quality cross.

Over on RTE they are crying and moaning like kids about Rooney not being used in the middle, completely ignoring Sturridge/Sterling. They the go on to claim Rooney is in no way whatsoever to blame even in the slightest bit for England's loss, and that playing him wide is "like playing Porto on the left wong".

Uninformed, clueless, useless b*locks, and nothing but.

my sky box says Oherlihy, dunphy et al are staying up for the japan Ivory coast game as well……how the hell did they pull the short straw for that one? I would have thought that would be second string punditry team territory
