    I love rock the boat!!!!!

The only bad thing about it is trying to do it in a skirt/dress which is usually the case....especially if you're not wearing tights/leggings.

I don't mind the song itself but every time people do that fúcking dance I want the ground to open up and swallow them all. My boat shall remain unrocked, thank you very much.

But if we're picking disco music, I submit the following for your boogieing consideration:

I don't know how but I managed to escape this phenomenon until just acouple of years ago. I'd heard the song but had no idea that there was a sit-down dance to it and was utterly bemused and bewildered at seeing people I've known and socialised with all my life all sitting down and rowing and clapping in unison. :D

I have never rocked the boat.

I won a dance comp's under 16's regional final with a partner called Dennis for our unforgettable cha-cha to this tune. My face ached from fake-smiling.

Was exactly like winning an Oscar, but without the Statuette, fame, fortune, money, recognition, allocades, or respect. And Dennis hated me.

I dreamed last night I got on the boat to heaven
And by some chance I had brought my dice along
    And there I stood
And I hollered "Someone save me"
But the passengers, they knew right from wrong...

What do you people say to this?

Looks like fun. I don't ever remember doing this here in Canada so I don't think we did. I do recall a stand up version of a dance to Rock The Boat.

I have become quite upset at a wedding or 2 when they play rock the boat and my dress deems its inappropriate for me to join in.

It was the Cotton eye Joe that did it, wasn't it?
How about this for our rural brethren........

My mam has a "party trick" where every time that song is played at a party she gets a glass of water, drinks some, then sprays the people on the floor with it. It's kinda gross. But they can never figure out where the water is coming from.
