Thanks lads. I know will be ringing them first thing in the morning. It was after closing time when I realised it I'd just took a drive passed the garage and noticed it wasn't where it was yesterday and saw the sale sign then. I was a sick man when I realised it, here's hoping though.

Took off the coolant system today, the amount of rusty water in there was unholy, my hands and arms are now a tan colour :pac:

I now know what it feels like to have really bad fake tan :pac:

Happened me with the focus the mechanic changed coolant and replaced water pump and timming belt. There was a noise coming from it at the time turned out it was the water pump completly rusted on the inside. Previous owner had been using water I mean he tested the coolant that was removed and it was pure water I can only imagine the corrosion in the rest of the system although it was fine in that sense from then on once proper strength coolant was added. That focus :pac:

I sell furniture for a living.

Amount of people who ring you over and over to hold stuff for them/mark it sold (even on a day off) and who then dissapear after abit when you could have sold it 3/4 times over.

Most salesmen for this reason work on the idea of no deposit = item won't be kept.

If it's the right car playing games isn't advised.

Happened to me twice and both times sold sign was put on car for me, even though no deposit was paid. Both was with a main dealer however and I told them I would get back to them within a couple of days as I had to get loan approval but I wanted car. Taken off carzone as well.

Cheers String. I'm hoping this is the case. They're a main dealer aswell and the father has bought several cars from them. The mechanic was onto them about an hour after I was there too yesterday so just hoping in the morning Ill be getting good news.

I understand the point thats being made too about no deposit = no guarantee. Thought I was doing the right thing by getting someone with a better knowledge to give it a run over first, but If someone beat me too it, It's my loss.

Anyone know what the craic is here. The panel has been lacquered but still looks dull  Does it need a wax or polish or something? I ain't too up to date when it comes to spraying.

whenever you repaint or clear coat a panel you should always machine polish it otherwise it will appear flat.

So tomorrow I might have some moneys, around 80/125 quid,

    Do I
Buy a front subframe polybush kit for the 9-5? For around 50 quid
Buy a few tools and the manuals for the 900?
Pay back some more of the money I owe from the 900?
    Or a mix of them?

    And the obligatory AH option
Spend it on coke and hookers?

Pay back what you owe and put what's left into your savings.

Ah sure, once i have the money paid back I'm happy, I hate having to pay stuff back but who doesn't? so I'll just get it out of the way and then start the savings going

Just seen a guy having his 2010 UK reg S Class seized. Ouch. No sympathy mind.

True, there are far too many nice cars still on uk regs here in Ireland.

    16.6L/100km

    Beat That!

(In fairness, most of those 300k were around town - with a heavy enough right foot)

    19.4L/100km in a 320Ci.

I have to wonder how you managed that....

That does make me feel better though.

Is that better or worse than 18 mpg?
That's what I got on the way up and back to cork in the truck at the weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,424 ✭✭✭Dartz

About the same really. Maybe around 17MPG.

It'll do 13l/100 in mixed use, and maybe 10L on a Motorway at a fast cruise.

Fuel 'economy' is a bit of an oxymoron.

I used to get 17 L/100 in town when I took the 156 v6 in in the mornings. It was how I could stomach the bus each morning and evening as there's a lot better ways to use those 17 L.
