No context, just a rant. See it everywhere, especially in my home 'province' where it is not even casual.

Did the strawberry half marathon yesterday and got 6k before some knee pain kicked in. Finished the race with a mixture of walking and running, but can barely walk today. Self diagnosed LCL knee ligaments! So after a month of nice regular running, I'm done for now! Hopefully it'll heal before next month as I want to start a marathon training plan then! :-(

    Get yourself checked out.

Unless you have done this previously (noticed you post in Golf aswell so possible) you may find it other common injuries which share similar pathologies that are easily remedied.

Mini rant...My second run (since starting back structured training yesterday for the first time in months) was a recovery run into work this morning after a decent HM effort on Sunday. Being a diligent so and so, my pace was ridonculously slow, and the body was doing very little work. A decent runner comes up alongside me and we exchanged pleasantries - "top of the morning to you", "beautiful start to the day" and so on. Clearly not doing a recovery run, he bounced off ahead of me but not before shouting over his shoulder "try to lift and use your arms more"... It took a second to figure out what he'd said but when I did.... It was all I could do not race down the road to catch him up...

Anyone else ever have the I'M ON A RECOVERY RUN!! moment?! :-/ :)

Yup, overtaken by a bunch of top-heavy rugger heads the other day, who I'm pretty sure decided to "race" me. Decided it was a great opportunity to practice not giving a fcuk :D

I ran the 3 mile Club race tonight and thought I had a good run.
Then I checked last year's results and saw I was 80 seconds faster then.:mad:

The guy who just rang from 'Microsoft" to kindly tell me I had a virus, but he wouldn't give me his credit card details to bill him for my time as I was working during the call. Customer service just isn't what it used to be.

Why have a 3 mile race? Why can't it be made 5k????

You mean that you never heard of a 4.827 k race before?

They are not 'official races' just a club series of 7 races of various distances/terrains only for members. They are not officially measured or anything. PB's are irrelevant. They purposely choose the hilliest, most difficult routes. People don't chase times, just each other.

We also have a 5.5 mile route (approx) a 3.8 mile race, a 4.5ish CC race and 1200m race on the track.

Yup, doing intervals, 400m fast/400m jog on the track. At the end of my fast lap two fellas running past stopped and came in to the track for a lap. While slowly making my way around on a recovery lap they passed me and one of them turned to say "well done boy, keep going". And of course they left again before I started my fast lap :(.

Bad poetry. Keep it to yourself. Don't inflict it on the world.

Letting your phone fall from your back pocket into the loo:(

Putting something in a 'safe place' and not being able to find it:o

    You think that's bad!

How about having two guys passing you while you're doing a 10k session and they're doing a recovery run.

Also, people using their prams/pushchairs as weapons, nearly killed by one today. Watch what you're doing people.

Going out for my first run in nearly two weeks to test a calf niggle only to find it right there again after a slow two miles. Not impressed. Time to get it checked out I think :(

To the B*ll*x who took my bottled water whilst I was out running a 1.4 mile loop, helped himself and left me a drop in the bottom  Yes, I saw you and I hope I have some dormant virus that rips the mouth out of you, yer durty f*cker :mad::mad::mad:

In Aldi buying apples for my office today.

    Bag of 8 apples €1.50
    4 Cadbury double deckers €1.25

I had to leave the apples and exit the shop ASAP. If I had to queue those bad boy double deckers would have been bought too.

Colin Jackson and Jonathan Edwards.sh1teing on about all Carl Lewis's achievements. Good work fellas, just sweep his drug taking under the rug there and pretend it didn't happen.

I wish all BBC presenters would stay at home and let us watch the damn field events!!
