Removing 70m of ditch to achieve required sight lines

    Had an initial meeting with an architect about a site I have picked out and he seems to think I will have to knock about 70m of ditch completely on either side of the proposed entrance to the site to achieve the sight lines needed.

    Is this something that a county council would be against? Is it likely to be a big stumbling block to getting planning permission? The road is very straight but the architect says that the sight lines are from 2.5 metres back from the road and to get the sight lines, the ditch has to be removed on either side.

    Removed completely, not just lowered...

    What county?

    Councils have some hypocrisy here.
    They do not want excessive hedgerow removed and they will refuse permission if they think so.
    However, they cannot legally stop anyone from removing hedgerow.

    I have had cases where permission has been refused, hedges taken out, reapplied and permission granted.
