If people REALLY wanted tickets then they should have signed up to UFC fight club. There are 5 of us going and when we knew this was definite, we agreed that one of us would sign up and we would split the cost which is about €15 each. I know its an extra expense but IMO, it is worth it. From what I gather, nearly everybody who had a FC pass got tickets. Might not have been what you were looking to pay but there were tickets available.

Your assuming that signing up for fight club is a valid option for everyone! it obviously isnt! Im a student who has a tight budget already and tbh cant really afford the price i paid for a ticket already!! But by your logic if i wasn't lucky enough to get a ticket then i don't deserve to go which i feel is unfair!

I don't buy this for a second. Anyone who comes in to the thread to post about how they're not disappointed about getting a ticket is a liar. You've come all this way to tell us you're not going and you're ok? Not buying it, bud. Whatever you need to convince yourself I suppose.

How do you usually get to threads on the internet? Bus? A few clicks of the mouse usually does me. I'm going all the way to another thread now for a look.

Forget the UFC pal, you should do some stand up! Hilarious!

FFS, I was a student for 6 years and was constantly smashed but if I really wanted to do something I would make it happen by working more hours and saving.

Signing up to the newsletter was free and i checked several times yesterday and tickets were available. You got a ticket so not sure why you even posted that? Getting a ticket isn't about luck, there were 2 pre-sales and all it takes is a bit of pre-planning. Splitting the FC with 5 other mates would cost you about €13 and to be honest, you would have had a hell of a lot better chance of getting the cheaper tickets that way. Also, simple things like buying tickets in 2 or 3 rather than looking for 6 together would afford you more price options. The ticket might not have been at the price you were hoping to pay but thats life.

If you can't afford a luxury (as the UFC is not a necessity), then you either accept it or do something about it.

Why are people who managed to get tickets annoyed that those of us who didn't get them are upset. I signed up to the newsletter, and o2 priorty, and tried general release today. I spent probably 2 hours constantly trying for 2 tickets. I was offered tickets only once in this time, and I lost them because I didnt realise I needed to have a ticketmaster account set up prior to buying.

Am I annoyed, very. Do I need people telling me if I wanted them badly enough I should have tried harder or paid more, no. I know the price point I could afford, and i was unable to get those tickets.

I think maybe some of us need to allow for the fact that people need to vent.

My only issue is with people giving out about the "bandwagoners". Everyone has a right to go for a ticket, even the casual fan.

I wasnt complaining about the price of my ticket i was simply pointing out that I could not afford to buy a fightclub subscription! I accepted what the ticket cost because I bought it obviously! I was trying to point out to you that your assertion that if someone was a real fan they would have bought a fight club subscription is incredibly ignorant! Not so much sympathy for those who didnt attempt to get tickets with the newsletter code obviously! but anyways im done with this pointless conversation so whatever!

If McGregor wasn't fighting it still would have sold out like the last time, and it will be full from opening doors just like the last time too.

Yeah, the tickets are gone lads. Hope all the bandwagoners enjoy the fights while many real MMA fans watch it in the pub.

I think this is a bit of an unfair comment. I'm not as long as most people here watching MMA but tickets are up for grabs to anybody.

I reluctantly bought a Fight Club membership because I knew demand for this would be through the roof. I'm bringing 4 mates along with me. 1 is a casual fan and the other 3 don't know a whole lot about MMA but are eager to learn/see the fights. Should I be telling them to fúck off and sell their tickets to "hardcore fans"?

I'm delighted they're coming. Everyone has to start from somewhere and the fact that they'll be able to see it live right in front of them will be a great experience for them.

UFC is a big draw and it's the name most people would associate mixed martial arts with. It's the organisation I started watching and have since branched out to the likes of Bellator/Cage Warriors.

If this event goes well for my mates, it might spur them on to head to the Cage Warriors event in August for significantly less prices.

I get that prices are high but it's not like we only knew how much tickets are 2 days ago or something. This "bandwagon" comment is annoying and unfair to those being introduced to the sport. Smack of jealousy from some in this forum more than anything.

I originally really wanted to go to this event but a couple of days ago I changed my mind. I realised that to get good seats would have cost over €200 for both of us. Even then, you are only really paying for the atmosphere as I would be able to see better and have commentary while watching on tv in comfort. Therefore, I ignored my Fight club presale email and decided against getting tickets.

To compensate, I got myself a Silver VIP ticket for Chuck Liddell.

This looks like a bit of a gripe to me:

Never said anything about real fans, I said if you REALLY wanted to go. Big difference.

I stand by what I said, it was obvious that this was going to sell out very quickly so you do what's needed to ensure you get a ticket. I sure as **** didn't want to pay the FC fee but the end justified the means IMO. As I said, splitting the FC fee would cost about the same as 3 pints each and if you were clever and willing to sit with one mate or by yourself, you could have got the cheaper ones therefore justifying the cost. Most people were searching for 4 - 6 tickets so the 1's and 2's were available. €50 or €75 with split FC fee works out cheaper than paying €125/€150/€175.

I am a pretty regular round here so if anyone else that is wants to help me out if they have spares, give me a shout. Pity more regs on this forum didnt get tix but no hard feelings, anyone can buy them and its a good sign and maybe will convert people into being full time fans.

I tried with o2 and newsletter presale along woth today and it didnt show up with any tix. Hopefully a good pub puts on the fights on the night. Would be great atmosphere and better views at least than being there.

Well I am doing my level best to report touting so hopefully they might have to offload them if they cant sell them. Set up daily alerts on adverts, donedeal and gumtree, you might find somebody who cant make it. I do this all the time when I am looking for something specific and have got some cracking bargains.

Just got a mail from Done Deal and they are capping all tickets for sale to €175. Not great but better than €1,000!

I'm a (very) casual fan, this caught my eye and fancied going so strolled onto ticketmaster with an o2 code yesterday at about 20 past and had absolutely no issues getting a pair of tickets.

Surprised to check this thread now and see the hardcore fans couldn't get any.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,387 ✭✭✭✭DeVore

My experience is that the O2 tickets lasted considerably longer than the Newsletter code tickets. I couldn't get a sniff of a ticket yesterday until two kind souls on this forum offered me their O2 codes and I managed to nab some after having completely given up on the newsletter code. Seems like tickets were portioned out for each...

I don't think a majority are pissed that we couldn't get Amy, more that the 50/75 ticket amounts were minuscule

    Interesting, on what grounds?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not supporting the touts. I've taken great pleasure scooping up their last minute clearouts for below face value for years.

But touting isn't actually illegal so I'm surprised that Donedeal are restricting them.

They'll all just bugger off to eBay anyway.

Just text a guy off Done deal saying he had 'the best seats in the house' at €175 each.
Turns out he actually wants €350!
Apparently Done deal put a cap on all ad's for this event at €175.
    Just a heads up :)

It's funny watching the arguments on here and elsewhere.

Was my own fault I didn't get tickets. I underestimated the amount who'd go the newsletter and O2 pre-sale route and assumed as far as the casual fans knew tickets would be on-sale Friday. I also didn't think of splitting the fight club deal with the rest of the group until I saw someone else suggest it, nor did I think I'd need to. Oh well.

I'd have paid up to €150 to go see it, but that would've involved leaving friends at home or going by myself and the difference in seeing it live just isn't worth it. I didn't particularly find going to 93 live enhanced my enjoyment, far as I'm concerned it's just a bit of a perk unless you're up close and cageside. Fact is, too: it's not a great card. Saying that doesn't make me any less of a 'real fan', it's just the truth. It could turn out amazing if the match-ups click, notsomuch if they don't. Same as any Fight Night, and there's not much at stake either in any fights outside of the main event. I've sat through many stinkers and unglamorous cards to earn my 'real fan' stripes, I don't need to risk ridiculous amounts of money to prove it.

Hope everyone who got tickets enjoys the night and I'm still praying for a miracle that I can pick up some from a mate or however between now and then. :)

I think you underestimate how good Gunni is, hi level karate black belt for years, one of worlds best grapplers and a BJJ Black belt, along with excellent posture, striking and calmness when sparring or fighting.

Yeah that fight unfortunately isn't even competitive in my opinion, they just needed a replacement after Ryan LaFlare got injured. Gunni is phenomenal.

I was being sarky lad. its a poor match up for him. as I said before, Zak cummings as co main is an insult to both the card and also Nelson.

Its a pity because Gunni is genuinely one to watch. I'm as excited to see him as McGregor. Theres little upside to this fight for him, if he murders Cummings everyone will say it was expected. So he risks an upset for no upside.
Gunni should be getting a top ten fight next after bolstering a pretty poor card imho.

Good to see Norman Parke on the card too but why no Paddy Hoolihan?? Paddy has been knocking on the door for too long and deserves a lot more exposure. He's an exciting fighter who finishes fights.

Also no Fields or Pendred? That's a pity too... (Maybe there are TUF reasons for this or something... I've avoided spoilers for TUF all year lol).
