Agree, but ive certaintly met more dumb people that didnt have multiple degrees and post docs than those who did!!!

I think the dumb ones that have high qualifications stick in your mind more.

A PhD. But please don't call me Doctor. Ok, go on so. If you insist.

PhD which essentially means diddly squat. Essential qualification for the career path I plan to take, and I learned a lot of transferrable skills, however in my current job I would probably benefit from a refresher course in junior cert science, so I don't know which option to choose!

I am also considering doing a masters in clinical sciences to increase my chances in securing approval to design and implement some more clinical studies.

Education is a means to an end. I use it to better myself professionally, but it has absolutely no impact on me (or anyone else) as a person. We're all the same height lying down.

No idea what all the levels are, so, let's say the middle ones.

Thanks - thought I was the only one ;)

    OK, I'll ask, what's level 6 then?:o

So does everyone have to achieve the Junior Cert. You can't leave education without it?

Always wondered is the crowd on Boards an intelligent, educated lot!

Id guess we are, poll added.

Intelligent and educated are two very different things, so the poll cannot answer both.

I often meet people who are educated above the level of their intelligence.

I finished my PhD before any of these level 6, level 7 etc designations came in to use. I am educated yes. Intelligent? I don't know!

Well I agree with your post on the proviso that every country does that. Not just ours.

    I'm a level 53 wizard.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

It's not what level you've got but where you got it that matters.

I did my primary schooling at OLV in the 60s and 70s.

Probably worth a post Doc now. :pac:

so how does that account for professional body qualifications like ACCA?

You'd be surprised. For example, the RSA ADI programme is FETAC Level 6.

I've seen a few people mention post doc as if it is a qualification.

A "post doc" isn't a qualification its a research position (job) which requires a PhD ( i.e. post doctorate).

    I have
a diploma in Insurance Studies (Level 6 I think),
a diploma in Web Design (Level 6 I think),
and a certificate in Sales Consultancy (Level 6)

I'm heading back to college in September or October but not sure what I want to do yet.

I haven't but then it might be generational. Over half of my graduating class went on to do a Masters. Guess how many went into employment in our area of study

That doesn't make their education valueless.
