If you were named after a "semi-state" ye'd be a prick as well. "Come here ESB your dinner is ready!"

Anything ending in Eka/Ika, i.e, Shanika/Daneka. Also Shakera is an awful name. Christ you hear people calling their kids in with these ridiculous names like 'Shakera Murphy' come in for your dinner. I pity those kids having skanger mother's who give them those atrocious names. They're almost as bad as the ones that wanted a boy but got a girl so stuck with the same name, such as Michaela.

Greg or Trevor, if you named your kids these names, there is a 100% chance of them growing up to be a menace to society....

Friend of mine has nieces-in-law (as such, to keep it simple) called Shanequa (shan-eek-wa) and Princess Tiiami (I seem to recall that's one of Jordan's kids too, eugh).

There's another one too, equally as bad, but I forget her name.

Jeez....lucky you've blanked the third - the others are in slapper names!

Anything in Irish. Even if your child emigrates he will still be reminded of his depressing roots.

Ireland. The country where the "he's worse off than me so I feel better about myself" mentality prevails.

I can't believe no one here has been caught up behind the little 'Toygur' that's waddling around Dublin. I wouldn't mind, but he's about 5.

I'm living in Canada at the moment and the names are awful!

I know a girl named Shawni
At my work there's 3 girls named Krista, there's a guy called Skyler.. And there's a girl named Trista! I've come to accept Krista as a common name because I've met maybe 6 of them since I arrived in August! But Trista... I can't even...

Oh and a girl named Braelynn handed in a resume the other day!

You've just reminded me, there was a baby girl named "Honey" in the ward when I had my daughter. Yes, that's a name other adults won't mind calling a grown woman....

Phonetically; Iv-en-ie. A beautiful name, opined the friend of the proud mother sitting next to me on the bus when informed. How might it be spelled, she inquired. Y-V-O-N-N-E replied the radiant parent. "We gor i' frum a buke".

That's really unfair, many Irish names are lovely, however, my personal gripe is with those impenetrable ones that are impossible to spell & equally impossible to pronounce!

Met a Mum in the park recently and her daughters name was 'Ava', how lovely I thought, "a bit like the Hollywood actress Ava Gardner I said", a'hemm she said, actually I'm her granny and my daughter named her the Irish way, Its spelt Aoidbhe, although some people leave out the d I think? or maybe its the b? and there's a fadda over the e although most people don't use it, I think she herself might spell it Ava when she grows up she said, as she smiled :)) I nodded and we carried on chatting . . . . . .

That's the kind of Irish name that wrecks my head, from filling in forms to passports, to people looking at the name and thinking, what the' is that?
