    It's a decent enough phone...

Picked one up today. It's great for the price :D

Also got a 3 months membership for Xbox Live. Won't be using it though.

Sorry, I can't add a link as I am a new user but if you just look up Carphone Warehouse it should come up on the home page.

Gone online already by the looks of it, damn wish I had held out for one of these rather than the 520.

It says out of stock on the website but it's only out of stock on the web store. It does not say stock levels that are in the shops :)

I must warn though, if your looking to protect it with a case the range is VERY limited. Looked everywhere and finally found a gel one in Meteor for €15.

    520 at €49.99 is better value than a 625 at €99.99 imho :)

There's really not all that much difference between them in useful specs. Same screen resolution, both just 512MB and 8GB and you probably wouldn't notice that the cpu in the 625 is a tiny bit faster. Battery time is the only significant plus on the 625

The screen is bigger would be the main draw for me. 520 is great btw, I will track one down tomorrow and sell my 520 I think.

Battery life is great! Only took about an hour to fully charge from nothing aswell! :)

625 has a front facing camera as opposed to the 520 as well.

The new version of the 625, the 630 is just about to be released. no front facing cam on that either, but it does have windows phone 8.1 pre-installed. (I recommend anyone who buys the 625 or the 520 recently to manually update theirs. 8.1 really gives the phones a new lease of life)

Do you know if Windows 8.1 has been released for manual update for 625 or the 520? I was keeping an eye on the check for update but maybe I'm missing something :)

there you go. It's not officially released for Windows phone 8 phones yet so you have to use the developers preview.

520 is far better, lighter, reacts faster, just better.

For some reason the screens smudge so easily on these fones , so you find yourself wiping it constantly, especially outside with the glare. Smudgy screens are almost unviewable outside. These screens are supposed to be glass but they feel like plastic.

I just set the brightness level to the max, does the job

I disagree. They both have a 512 MB ram.

The 625 is a bigger phone and although it's kinda heavy it's probably just because it's size.

The Lumia 625 has a lot of things the 520 lacks. Front facing camera, longer lasting battery,1080p video recording, 4G and LED flash for the back camera.

I agree that the screen smudges quite easily but I think it feels solid enough. And a quick rub will lift all the smudges straight off :D

Thanks a lot for that! Installed it last night with no problems. It's a big improvement:)

They smudge because they don't have the Nokia clear black filter on the screen. Hides the smudges and makes the screen much easier to see in sunlight. The New 630 and the higher models have that.

Any one actually bought an unlock for one if these?

Unlocks for Lumia phones tend to be hard to find and pricey.

There should be a few on eBay, as usual they are €20+.

Just black but you can change the colour of the back with the interchangeable covers. Can't find anywhere that sells them though

What do you mean by this? I can't get my 520 to connect to my eircom which is around 5 years old, says password is wrong but have connected to all other devices with same password,

    Thanks

I notice some people cut and paste the password, and grab an extra space at the end.

The Eircom router is a different thing. The older ones seem to have a problem with the Lumia's. See here.

Picked one up, asked the sales assistant if they were locked, she checked, vf locked meteor unlocked. Got it on meteor and is indeed unlocked and no meteor branding.
Very nice phone. Windows takes a bit of getting used to.
