    YES!

    Exactly.

And I know many of you just don't and won't get it and will say we are sick of being portrayed as baddies.

Well you are bigger then us ..try to imagine you are being asked out by a 'hald bear half lion'

You are intimidating sometimes...especially if a girl has been through some bad stuff...

    Most of yis are nice

    But just saying.

Just try to take this light hearted and think a little about it.

    Just sayin is all.

Let the ripping of the piss begin.

We should have a guess the number of stupid generalisations in the thread competition. My guess is all of them will be here.

It's not about not getting it. Maybe women should stop thinking of themselves as victims and small innocent delicate things that men hurt. Maybe then the whole man showing you interest wouldn't have to be so tough on you. Rollyeyes

    Girls usually ask me out!

No wait, usually ask me to get out, my mistake.

Ah a woman portraying herself as a victim straight off the bat. How original.

Fortune favours the brave. I've survived many a night in the threatening company of big, bad men.

I enjoyed most of them too.

Wtf? Saying it's light-hearted isn't a get-out clause. Is that sketch for real or is it a satire? If it's not a satire, even if light-hearted - does he include himself among these threatening men he's referring to?

I can imagine the eyerolling responses to this, but I am no looker and i have been asked out by 6 different women since Christmas last, all attractive and great fun, none of them acting like victims or pioneers breaking ground. I can't understand how this is such a mystery to people -attraction, talking, meet again or not, rinse and repeat. It's not that difficult.

I've never actually thought about it like that. Maybe it's the fact I went to a mixed school, did TKD as a kid and am 5'9. Or maybe I'm just naive. I'll take my chances either way.

What about your male friends OP? Or do you just mix with females?

Wow, just wow. Comedy point missed and battered to death all in one go.

If you are intimated by someone asking you out I'd suggest seeing a psychiatrist.

Hmmm, I've always been tempted to walk up to random women and ask them out. :o I know it won't end well, but still.

Also, Lou, I'd talk about your post but it would be like shooting fish in a barrel :P

No, that's not fair. There is a risk involved with going on a date with a guy, likewise there is a risk for guys; albeit a much smaller risk.

Wtf indeed. No, it's not true. The vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast majority of men are grand and not at all dangerous.

Men, don't think about it for a second. Most women don't think about this when you ask them out.

Statistically, women are more likely to be subjects of violence by men than men by women, right?

The comedian is engaging in comedic hyperbole to make this point.

It's a pity this has to be explained, but, apparently, it does.

    Is that sarcasm?

It's light-hearted and exaggerated obviously and bits of it did make me laugh, but from what I can tell, performed with the view that there's a grain of truth to it.
This kinda **** just causes a further gender divide. No idea what the OP thought the purpose of starting a thread about how intimidating men can be (I disagree, men aren't intimidating) would serve, other than starting a gender war.

FWIW, PUA types recommend this as a confidence-building exercise.

You really think the comment above was sarcasm?

This thread is confusing. I'm going to bed.

My biggest problem about being asked out , is my wife .
She goes from pissing herself laughing to threatening to cut my balls off.

In fact in 382 14 years of marriage I've been asked out twice , once by a friend of hers , Im still not sure what that was all about and the second time by a work colleague who was car crash material .

:o I love my wife BTW.
