Waiting for UPC to run a cable

    Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question.

    UPC is available in my estate, with a couple of caveats:
    1. My house is not wired up so UPC need to run a cable from a junction to the house.
    2. In order to run the cable, UPC will need to open up the footpath outside my home.
    3. The estate is not taken in charge by the council.
    4. The developer is in receivership.

    Does anyone have experience with this? I've been waiting about 6 months for UPC to perform the necessary work to hook me up.
    UPC tell me that they've been waiting for permission (presumably from the receiver). I'm guessing at this stage that there's a letter on some accountant's desk that's been entirely ignored or forgotten.
    Is there anything I can do to kick it along, or should I give up and wait for either the council to take the estate in charge, or for Eircom to switch on efibre?


    (Please don't suggest Sky or Eircom or any other broadband or tv provider)

    They're probably waiting on a wayleave to open the footpath. The builder or owner of the lands would normally provide.

    A receiver provably couldn't care less. Perhaps getting on to them and threatening not to pay management fee would speed things up

    Yeah, badly phrased sorry. Last time I asked a question here about a provider it was suggested I use another one. Mind you, I think the guy was a shill for Sky.
