Yeah - it was difficult getting anyone to quote me when I was planning to daily the carina, and that is 20 next year.
Those that would quote were really cheap though (liberty)

Well it's not great carryon on a main(ish) road but I don't have a problem with it happening in a carpark or somewhere quiet.

I was down that road a few weeks back, bought a car down there with a few lads.
The guys we bought it off text us as we were driving down that road to say they had freshly painted it in the car we just bought. :pac:

It usually happens at night. And those roads do be dead at night. And you would usually know a car is coming at night and just stop and pull in and when they go start again once they pass.

Yep, on a road like that you see the lights a few minutes before they get there.

Ever since hotrods became a thing, burning tyres and leaving black marks on the road has become a part of the modified motorists nightlife.
This hasn't popped up over night, not even in Ireland.

It's not even that it's "cool", it's just fun.

Even look at the american muscle car scene. From the early '60s if not before, they were doing burnouts and such.

I know it's fun, I used to do it, until I realised that doing it on roads was moronic. I'm all in favour of fun, but not on roads, pretty much regardless of where/when or how quiet you think a road is.

It's idiotic on public roads. People could be walking and I have come across people doing them late at night where I had to stop and wait for them to finish. My gf had a **** attack cause she was afraid one time when someone was sliding all over the place behind her. This forum is starting to look like midnight club or the like.

Don't see many wrecked AE86's in Ireland to be fair, lads that love their cars (especially ones that cost around €10K) don't tend to wreck them...

Some amount of wrecked ones around where I am, oddly mostly rear quarter panel area damage, wonder how that happened.
