I think you'll still get a download code. I've heard of people registering the game yesterday and getting a code.

I know I want to get sonic for the little fella and download the free Zelda and Yoshi DLC but now that I'm hovering my mouse over the page, I'm not sure....arrrrrggh!

This or wiiu party just as a kids option (aged 2-4). Whatcha think guys?

WiiU Party? With no free WiiMote? Hold off, the price of the physical bundle will eventually fall.

Get Sonic, it creates the illusion that the game sold well, Sega will therefore continue making them so we can continue taking the piss out of RichyMcSonicisbetterthanMario. Everyone wins!

Noobish question but where do you have to register it?

Is it on the eshop somewhere or some sort of web thing?

Do you get an email with the code?

Go to Nintendo.co.uk, click on My Account (create one if you haven't got one) and then Register Product.

Not sure how important it is but you may want to associate your NNID (created on your console) with your Club Nintendo Account (on the website) before you do any of this. This is done through the WiiU or eShop I think.

Obviously someone who's done it knows better, but generally you get the code on screen after the survey, and it appears on the My Account banner on the website if you scroll past the Welcome and Take a Survey splashes. The emails usually take a while to arrive.

Deadly thanks lads, I'm dying to play Mario Kart later but I'm also looking forward to some HD Wind Waker!

Did you register it on the Nintendo.co.uk website? If so, you can do a survey, and there should be details on it after that.

If you already did the survey, then you should see a banner about it at the top of the "My Account" page.

What game is everyone opting for?

Im stuck between Nintendo Land and Pikmin 3. Leaning towards Nintendo Land just to have more multiplayer options.

If I didn't already have Wind Waker I'd probably go for that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,129 ✭✭✭deadl0ck

For me it's between Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter and Wonderful 101
I have young kids so I don't get much time to play so I think that may rule Monster hunter out (BTW - I already have Wind Waker, Nintendo Land, Super Mario Brothers as Discs)
    Any feedback appreciated...
Also - as I never play Nintendo Land I'm happy to swap the disc version of it for a download code :)

I'm going for New Super Mario Bros U just because the last one I played was the original on DS, so it hasn't been overdone for me yet. Looks like a solid HD romp!

Nintendo Land can be a lot of fun in multiplayer, but you can probably grab copies for next to nothing in some shops that stock 2nd hand games.

Probably better off going for one of the other games. Pikmin 3 is awesome.
(Note to self, actually finish it, so I can build up my skills so that Peach stops beating me senseless in the Pikmin multiplayer games!)

So you'd recommend Pikmin over Wonderful 101 ?

I've only played the demo of W101 (it's one of my possibilities for the free game!) but Pikmin 3 is beautiful and so good to play!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Wonderful 101 is a good game.

But it's not an all time great.
I got it cheap when the online store glitched a few months ago, and I don't regret it but as a full price game I think I'd be disappointed.
And of the two, I'd say it's the one more likely to drop in price.

You know what you should do, is look for someone doing the trade-in shuffle, buy their MK code and get 'em both.

Bahahaha! He won maybe two out 50 games. I beat him a bunch of times when he had 4 times as many Pikmin starting off :D

Banjo won't agree with this but I went for wiiu party in the end. 3 boys under 5 need some simple multiplayer instead of individually fighting over who drives Sonic into a wall spiral ;)

Finally got to turn on MK a few mins ago. My, oh, my, it's pretty. And sooooo Nintendo-y. Love it.

Briefly, if anyone is unsure, Pikmin is the best game on this console, in my opinion. If you've played the previous ones, you'll probably already have it. If you haven't, you're in for more of a treat.

Anyone been hearing of people having credit removed from the eshop and closed club nintendo accounts for registering multiple download codes from the promotion?

I saw one person claim it happened to someone on reddit there, curious if it's just one of those he said she said he said she said things, or true.

Actually- I hadn't considered Wii U Party at all, but it's a fair point - my 4 1/2 year old might like it...
Let us know what it's like for the youngsters when you get a chance !
I pre-ordered Mario on Amazon so it'll be Tuesday (at least) before I get it so I still have a few days to decide.....

Have been following the thread here (thanks to the poster who mentioned Argos and their deal as picked up MK8 yesterday as Amazon order didnt arrive yesterday and had a heartbroken 8 year old who has been on Mario countdown for 2 months !)

Wondering if somebody could help with this:
We have 2 club nintendo accounts one tied to a 3DS that we no longer have (traded in for the WiiU!) and we had to set up a new account for the WiiU as couldnt link the old one to the WiiU. For some reason the password reset is not working for Gmail addresses as the email is not received (it is for hotmail!) but if I redeem the free game code on the old club nintendo account we had for the 3ds - will the ecode work on the new Wiiu account, or is this breaking some sort of account rule?

I've been on hold now for the UK customer service line for around 20 mins and cannot seem to find a straight answer for this :(

I have Pikmin, Nintendoland and Wind Waker already. I was thinking of Monster Hunter, Wonderful 101 or SMBU as selection options.

In the end, the first two were just too damn big for downloading unless I get more storage. As it happens, the downloads have tipped me over into getting two €5 activation codes as well. So I also got Luigi U as well. Life is great!

Apart from the fact that I now have incontrovertible proof that i am a truelly awful Mario kart player. Online games so far, last in every race but one. I was second last in that.:o

The code has to be redeemed in the eShop via you Wii U, so it shouldn't matter what account it was issued against. However you'll want access to the old account and its associated email address

But I haven't goty mariokart yet, this opinion is based on the Hunt Together and So Many Games promotions

Perfect.. thanks for your help... I got fed up of hanging on the line to Nintendo so went ahead and it seems to have worked, was just worried it would end up being deleted or invalidated!

    Appreciate it.. :)
