The E has an sd card slot the current G doesnt so the size doesnt matter :D

Not true, anybody who had owned a legacy budget android (HTC wildfire series , Samsung galaxy mini series, Huawei Ascend series etc) will know that you can't store apps on the sd card, doesn't sound like much of a problem but it really is!

At least half the apps on my phone can be moved to SD card so it shouldn't be an issue.

    My Moto E arrived today,
So far it seems like it's a great phone and well worth the money,
It runs smooth and it's quick enough. I'm happy with it anyway.

4 working days from ordering ,when i ordered it from Tesco they gave me an ETA and it arrived in my Parcel Motel here in Galway the day before it was due to arrive at the PM depo.
but i had the weekend in the middle so it seemed longer,
    Still quick enough i think.

I have the Moto G and the Moto E is for the wife, it will be her first Android phone so she didn't want to spend much money at all,
I've never had a "top" smart phone as i could not justify spending the sort of money they cost.
I'm really happy with my 16Gb. Moto G not really sure how much better you need a phone to be,
and from playing around for the last 2 hours with the Moto E i'm impressed you get so much for so little money. There is no flash on the camera though but i knew that before i bought it,
I've put a few apps on it and as long as your not expecting an S4 replacement i'm sure it's a good buy. The screen is very bright and the colors look nice,
everything opens up and runs smoothly,
The wife will be well pleased with it........i hope

Got phone today, a lot of phone for the money.

It's networked locked though. How did you guys unlock it?

Should have been unlocked if you bought it from Tesco Direct.
This mobile phone is unlocked to all networks and sold without a SIM so you can use your existing SIM card or choose a new SIM Only plan at www.tesco.com/phoneshop.

I cut my sim down to a micro sim size, unless that has caused an issue. Will be getting a proper micro sim today.

Tesco have the Sim free version and the Tesco mobile version on the web site so be careful when ordering,
The sim free version is ten pounds more than the Tesco mobile version.
you can get them unlocked on eBay very easily.

Got mine today from Tesco, first impression is very good. Definitely better than anything currently available on the Irish market from €130/140 down. Sleek design, easy to use and very fast.

Thinking of getting the Moto E from Tesco Direct for £79.

Is there any disadvantage to getting a phone from Tesco Direct? What happens if the phone is faulty, returns, warranty, etc.

Is there any where else to get a SIM free, unlocked Moto E in Ireland for the €100 mark? I am with the Tesco Ireland network.

It is available from Amazon.co.uk for a tenner more and no parcel motel required, also Amazon are very good with returns for faulty goods(customer damage obviously not covered).

I saw that - just watching the pennies!

I am tempted by the Moto G aswell which I can get for €150 with Tesco Ireland and they give a 1 year warranty.

Wondering if these prices will come down anytime soon? There was a post on another thread I think saying that there is a new Moto G on its way which could reduce the prices.

If you're going to purchase on Amazon may I suggest creating a demand on Flubit? You'll probably get about ten Euro off the Amazon price. Amazon had the 8gb Vodafone Moto G for £95 but they were out of stock so I asked Flubit for a quote and they offered it for £87.60 just in time for my brother's birthday...also it arrived unlocked to boot even though it should have been Vodafone only!!

Yep, definitely. There will be great bargains to be found on this model when the new Moto G comes out.
