Anyone watching this crap? Unbelievable amount of bollocks being spewed by 'experts'

They deliberately mashed it in the totally unrelated story about contaminated pills.

I haven't seen it as I can't access the RTE shows til they're on the player here.

What experts were they? What were they saying?

Nice appeal to authority you have there. Any other fallacies you want to show the group?

What you mean? The doctor is the one, I'm presuming, that the OP is complaining about.

Second time today I've seen a post like this from you. Is it so hard to imagine that people want to discuss things they're displeased about rather than just turning their back all the time?

It is possible for someone to know more than a doctor, even on medical matters. There's a doctor in my town who also touts kinesiology and chiropracty ffs.

So eh, what were they saying?

That 80% of the youths (14-18 years of age) that present for addiction treatment have a problem with cannabis, along with alcohol, but Dr. Bobby Smith, the consultant psychologist that was on the show, said that it is cannabis that is the main problem for that 80%; he said that they are presenting with a range of problems namely irritability and addiction; that at the extreme ends of the spectrum there are psychotic episodes along with extreme paranoia; but that the most common symptom was mood instability, particularly outbreaks of anger. Then the report continued onto other drugs.

A psychiatric nurse once told me that half the people that came into the hospital was because of cannabis, quite surprised by it but there you go.

Obviously a victim of observation bias, wtf would a trained medical professional who deals with events in the real world possibly know about the facts!

The pro-weed lobby do themselves an awful disservice by trying to pretend that Marijuana is harmless, or better still, some wonder drug that cures all ails.

If they were realistic and admitted its a psychoactive drug that can cause some pretty severe consequences in young people they might have more traction. Its when they pretend its completely harmless and would solve all health and economic problems, that they tend to get ignored as quacks.

Irritability, mood instability and particularly, outbreaks of anger?

In other words normal teenage behaviour or have we all forgotten what it was like being 14-18 and being told we have "a problem"?

This is a great reason to legalize weed. K
Make it harder (like drink) for teenagers to get.

I didn't watch the show myself, but with the amount of crap added to hash and weed, it's can't be 100%.

Don't give a crap what anybody says, anything smoked by combustion is far from healthy.
