And we are on to round 5 already - where is this year going?!!
This time we are heading to a course which has evaded me the last few times the society has visited, something which I intend to rectify this time around. Have heard / read nothing but great reports about the course so looking forward to this one too.

Ditto. No excuse for me this time, it's only 30 minutes from home....

Hope to be there again. They treated us so well last time, really looking forward to it.

Going to have a pop at the 2nd green this time as well without scuba to talk me out of it ;)

2nd is a hard hole to hit off the tee. Only hit it once myself. Now the 5th is the one to go for, have hit it a good few times.
All depends on the wind and rain!

Hmmm, last year the 5th was into the wind. Was never on for us :D

Bit of a pig of a day last year. If the wind is with you on the 2nd its going to be a really hard day. Not generally with you on 2

Unfortunately not gonna make this one but would urge everyone else to try and make it as it was a great course last year with super hospitality.

@ben @rikand I also really wanted to take on 2 aswell last year but got talked out of it. Now that 90 degree Par 5 is a hole I'd love to play again. The corner drive able when playing with the wind Ben?

Was a funny day last year.
    Almost missed first drive. (lol)
Worst day on a course all year.

So hope to go back and get one back.

Ben was class there that day. Irrespectiveof it being his home course.

If I get out will hit 7 or 6 twice to corner on 5 ?

What irons do people hit twice to dogleg Ben ? What distance is right turn.

You'll need to carry about 315 to carry the corner off whites, it can only really be done with a tail wind. Otherwise 2 hybrids and you'd be on or very close. All depends on wind.
Think there was about a 3 club wind last year

I suppose this is where Ben appears out of nowhere to start his Golfer of the year challenge :)

Won't be able to make this.

Are there entry requirements for this society lads?

I'm not sure if I'm free that weekend but if I am I'd love to play.

I'm only getting back into the game after a long absence. I don't have a GUI handicap but I'd say I'm solidly in the mid 20s.

Played a couple of holes tonight, in my opinion the course is in even better nick then this time last year.

Nice to hear.... I played it only once and really enjoyed it. It was a great day of sunny warm weather and I found it strange that the course was deserted apart from another couple of groups. Really looking forward to this outing.

Ben, I love the way your greenkeepers managed to get all the flags to hang almost straight outwards from the pins so beautifully. Must be the starch they wash 'em in...

For anyone who hasn't already played there, you should be aware that Dunmurray isn't prone to high winds, at all, ever, nope, very calm out there...

I'll get my coat now then...
