    Hi,

Iv developed a crack in the FD and while it's not causing a problem at the moment im guessing its only a matter of time. Is it possible to hacksaw the tab off and put a clamp on around it or is the metal base of the tab (2mm thick maybe) going to cause problems with a clamp as it's not completely flush?

Has anybody done anything similar before? It's an aluminium frame

    Thanks

Looks like the base of that bracket could be an issue. I wonder could you epoxy that crack, after cleaning it out well to ensure adhesion.

that was my original plan but theres a base maybe 2mm thick so i dont know if that will effect the clamp. grinding the base off wouldnt be possible I wouldnt have thought
