Metal detector to find a gold wedding ring.

    My brother in law lost his wedding ring out in Muc pile in his garden.does anyone know we could get a loan of a metal detector that can find gold most it seems can only find steel etc.

    You are aware that using a metal detector in Ireland is a hanging offence? That's why I've never used mine in Ireland. In fact, I've never used it at all - it was a leaving gift.

    You're welcome to borrow it but I can't give any operating instructions. I'm in NCD so PM me if you're interested.

    I thought it was only illegal on Areas of Historical Importance or State owned land?
