Tried Marmite on your toast this morning? Dipped your toe in sadomasochism last weekend? Intending to take up flower arranging? When is the last time you did something for the very first time and what was it?

I had a 4D scan last week to have a look at baby Merkin which was a very very cool experience and definitely something I'd recommend! Not something I've tried before but it's amazing how science has progressed and how you can now actually see a baby in utero do cute things like yawn and play with their toes etc. :)

So what's been your most recent new experience?

Missed a direct debit payment on my car insurance for the first time this month. Didn't like it tbh.

Went to the cinema alone for the first time a couple of hours ago. It was pure bliss. I'm never going with others again.

Bought a tub of garlic butter a few weeks back to try it out with potatoes.

Started putting it on absolutely everything from bread, fish, chips, pork, etc.

I had to lay off that stuff before my heart disintegrated and they found out I had more butter than blood in my body.

I used the title Dr. for the very first time recently (not M.D.) on an official document. Couldn't get the smile off my face for the rest of the day, was so chuffed writing it down.

That 4d scan sounds amazing Merkin, it must have been almost like meeting the baby! Did you cry? :)

Aww Candie have you just finished a PhD? Mr. Merkin is a Dr. Merkin as well and it was lovely when he signed something for the first time too. It is a MASSIVE achievement so very very VERY well done, it's a huge milestone and takes such commitment :)

Oh yes, teary eyes in between almost wetting myself laughing because the little fellow was having GREAT craic in there!

    Thanks :)

I'd say it was a pretty surreal experience alright, it's funny in a way because now you know the baby before you even meet her/him (do you know? Are you telling?).

A little man :) Congratulations Merkin, I hope he pops out accidentally when you sneeze and weren't looking, and sleeps through the night at two weeks!

Was for some unknown reason looking at the contents of a bottle of vinegar in the supermarket the other day and it slipped from my hands and smashed on the floor. I loudly admonished myself with an "Ah come on, now". Unfortunatley for the young fella who just happened to be running by at the time, when everyone looked around they thought it was him. His mother came over and gave out to him while I looked on in silence.

Pinned my stupidity on a child is what I did for the first time. :o

Fúck him, he was running with a lollipop in his mouth, I probably saved his life.

The last time I did something for the first time sounds like the best B Side that Meatloaf never wrote.

The last time I did something for the first time, I kissed a girl I'd been friends with for 25 years, totally out of the blue.

Brought my toddler through the car wash (in the car) for the first time on the weekend to see if he'd like it.

I think we were a bit premature in thinking he was up for it

I made the same mistake. By the way, a 1-year-old is surprisingly well able to get out of a car seat when scared! Like a little Houdini she was!
