Fixing hole in plasterboard

So the wife decided she wanted a new (bigger bath). To get it in there was a requirement to remove bottom row of tiles from around old bath and also put a hole in the plasterboard at both ends to fit it in as it was a bit tight.

It's approx 800mm wide and about 50mm high I think.

Whats the best way to fix this before tiling?

Update:
Been home and measured it. The main hole is 5.5 inches high and 800 mm wide. Only about 2 inches at most is above the bath. Looking into putting a sheet of half inch thick board with same dimensions as above in. Will be able to attach it to the metal struts in wall. Will seal/fill and gaps and then tile. Spent the last hour taking off the last of the old grout for a flatter surface.

Exp foam? No chance.

OP, you answered your own question. Replace with an accurately cut section of board, fill, bath seal, tile. Job done.

Expanding foam is as you would get on the back of a king span or xtra term board or as you would get in sheets of insulation, when dry it it stronger than plaster board and not affected by dampness or water.
It can be plastered over with skim coat, sand and cement or tile adhesive and if by some chance you do get a leak will not soak up the water like a slab would even a green slab.
As I said foam it and you wont have a bother.

Step 1 complete.

I got plasterboard in to the bigger hole and did an ok job.

The other end will require expanding foam as there isn't enough room to put in plasterboard.

Update,

Step 2 underway. After a few trips to B&Q (wife changed her mind a few times) we settles on a mosaic tile and started last night (see attached). Need to touch up a few areas this evening.
