Just seen a post about beards.
I’m 28 years of age and I can’t grow a beard for some reason, I can get a goatee going but never seem to grow hair on the lower cheeks or locks.
I always found this odd and I’m the only male in my family with this issue.

It can be handy as I don't have the shave frequently which is a blessing.

Anyone else unable to grow a full-on-beard? Do you think it's a medical thing or just genetics?

(I do have a pair by the way)

I have a bald patch under my chin, nothing grows there

I hate beards. Just a note to young lads with atrocious big beards, you look ridiculous and it ages you really badly. Just saying.

"Wow that clean shaven guy looks super manly" Said no one ever

I've decided to go clean shaven, facial hair has now become too common among the masses.

    Hippy.

It's also interesting to note that 98% of the Forbes 100 Wealthiest men are clean-shaven. Having what looks like a dead squirrel stapled to your chin isn't really the look needed if aiming for the C-Suite.

I feel sorry for beards. There they are, just sprouting happily out of facial follicles because that's what they do, and some of their face farmers start a cult, with feeble slogans on pinterest, pinterest! While others just shave or beard unselfconsciously along, regardless of fashion.

With age and maturity I have come to fall in love with beards and hair in general.
10 years ago I loved clean shaven men with hairless chests. Now I love hairy men:)

I'll not have a bad word said about beards. Amazing things. Wonderful, sexy, beardy beards. I'll be devastated when this beard trend dies out.

No, looking like a slimey boy man well into your 60's is much more preferable.

Make sure to bleach your wig and open the top button on your pink shirt because ties are for the peasants!

Beard - a woman who acts as a gay fellas boyfriend, so he won't be found out.
Saw one at a wedding a couple of years ago. This lad, who was very camp, prancing around the place. Saw him sit down at the meal, and he had his arm around this wan. She looked so uninterested, was probably there to lend her gay friend a hand and get a free day out.

    He wasn't fooling anyone.

I find the beard bandwagon perplexing too. I'm all for a bit of facial hair (raaar!) but big bushy beards like Brian Blessed, Grizzly Adams and Santa Claus... what has caused such a surge in these?

The kind of beard trend prominent among young men these days is rather like the trend for non-hipsters to do their best to dress as hipsters but not fully adopting the lifestyle and therefore acquiring an out-of-place style in society.

It depends on the guy I suppose. We've a lad in work with an amazing beard, has the piercings, tattoos, skinny jeans, devil may care attitude going on. He rocks that beard. Our GM tried to grow one - oh dear god - "here's Johnny...."

I have noticed the increase in mug-rugs, a definite trend, and will therefore subside soon. I eagerly await the return of the toothbrush moustache. There's a look that'll take some pulling off.

Husbands not allowed a moustache/beard. No man should have more hair on his chin than his head.

beards are lush, the bigger and bushier the better! it should be against the law for men to shave their beautiful beards. (well, unless their beard is sparse and whispy) maybe i'll go in as an independent pogonophile for the european elections and change the country for the better.

Of those, I'd say that 90% of them are ass-holes.

Interesting to see the opinions on beards in here. i have a pretty big beard myself and I've never had any bad comments about it from anyone. Its crazy how many girls at my age (25) actually love a beard. I don't want to post a picture of myself but my beard is of a similar size and style as the picture

I can't grow a beard. Well I could attempt to but it's an awful looking pubic hair looking mess, honestly..rotten.

Lads who can grow proper beards-brilliant. I've complimented them on it..

Lads who can only grow what I can or the 'neck beard' stop. Stop what you're doing right now and shave.
Settle for stubble. It's best for everyone.

Many people with full beards now will probably cringe in 10-15 years when looking back at photos...like men who sported "goatees" in the 90s/00s now looking back at photos of themselves...

Some look good and it suits them, but many blokes look like they are trying too hard.

    BEARDS ROCK.

    Carry on growing them, menfolk.

Just...don't get too much food in them. Hygiene, like. I once dated a guy with an AMAZING beard, but he loved pizza and I could still smell/taste the toppings for hours afterwards :(

A bald head and a big beard looks great. What nonsense.

Thanks for the new word, but i just tried it out on Mrs Satriale and she hit me. Fortunately the beard completely camouflaged my chin and she only punched air/hair.
