22 million for Sanchez didn't he cost Barcelona 37 million? That would be a fantastic addition to the squad. I don't know who of the front 3 he would replace though, unless its more goals Rodgers wants.:pac:

Seems to be accepted fact now that Sanchez is available where did this come from?

I'd be highly sceptical that he's available let alone for a fraction of what Barca actually paid for him.

I've read a few places that Sanchez, Fabergas, Masch and Tello have all been made available by Barca.

Alexis Sanchez would be an absolutely huge signing, one of the biggest transfers in the history of the club.

He is available but 22 million € are charity prices, I couldn't see him go for that. Plenty would pay 30 million for him.

Really enjoy Richard Sadlier as a pundit he doesn't try and be diplomatic with his elders and calls a spade a spade.

There's expected to be a clear out at Barca from the new manager.

Surely with one of our fullbacks taking over we should get first refusal. :)

    Adverts.ie job on it -

    "what's your lowest price?"

"I can get it from Real Madrid for 20 quid and free delivery, can you match that?"

"would you not throw in Fabregas and Masch?"

I think what you're talking about is a human trait rather than an Irish trait. The only difference between British and Irish fans is that it's more practical for Brits to go to more games.

I think the cachet of being a "true" fan is important to a lot of people and hypocrisy obviously flows from that. It'd probably be better if more people were comfortable with acknowledging that they watch sports to be entertained, first and foremost. There's not anything wrong with that stance.

For a lot of us here it's more akin to a religion, but not everyone is like that.

you see this is my point, its a very small minority in Ireland who would deem it akin to religion. In order to worship you need to travel to the temple, so to speak.

The first point is where you and I would disagree fundamentally. I'm not claiming to be right and you wrong, but its a fundamental difference of opinion on this. I'd believe being a football fan is about being part of something more than being simply entertained.

I'm sure all of us here have supported Liverpool in the darker times and its those darker times that make the good times all the better. But lets not kid ourselves and say this is the stance of the majority.

LOI fans cannot win though really I feel. If you say you wish that more fans would come rather than support British clubs, you're being bitter. If you have the attitude it's their loss, you get accused of wanting to keep it exclusive

There's no tradition here of going to games in any sport week in week out, over a full season like there is in the UK.

I would be tempted to say that there is no way you could say what Barca players are available given they only appointed a new manager yesterday!

However having said that is it not normally the DOF/board that look after transfers in Spain rather than the manager! Also considering they appointed a manager 2/3 days after the previous one "officially" left then it would appear that this appointment had been in the works for a while, and as such the new manager may have already evaluated the squad and decided on what players he wants to keep and/or which ones he wants to let go!

So essentially what i am saying is that Sanchez may or may not be available at this current time!

its actually hard enough to argue with alot of what you are saying there, its just that some people don't like being put in a particular box of what kind of fan they are, and like to see themselves and everyone else as one.

I've had this conversation with countless fans of clubs in different countries, fans who attend games on a regular basis and the common denominator was their agreement that non match going fans are definately missing out on part of the general experience.

The truth is harsh, but for many many people nowadays (not just on these shores) but football has become their drama, akin to their favourite tv show even.
There will always be a disconnect between people they class as (and I f*cking hate the term) barstoolers and those mentioned above .

To sign some like Sanchez you really have to stump up top wages straight away. No performance based contracts just cold hard cash. I would absolutely love him at Liverpool but I even think he is out of our league. I just have no confidence in Ayre to make something like this happen.

Alexis Sanchez discussion by Barca fans makes for interesting reading, some can't wait to get shot and yet they mention talent and physical qualities that Liverpool have thrived with this season.

ah come off it ya pups. We wont be buying Sanchez. Plenty of teams with bigger budgets then ours would be in for him too.
I suspect Lallana will be our top outlay this summer if the rumoured fee is correct.

The transfer ban as been suspended and is being appealed.

    Yes please.

Barely heard a peep about this goal, probably because it didn't count for anything in the end.

I remember last year reading about Messi falling out with a number of players the main one being Sanchez.

I found this. I do take these things with a pinch of salt but if true maybe Sanchez wants out.
"Considering how bad you are, I've no idea how you cost so much," and, "Stop shooting so much and give me the ball."
