Does anyone actually like going to the dentist?

I've to go to the dentist tomorrow, or tonight depending, I hate going, I don't have a fear of them, but I don't feel so great knowing there's a person with a drill in my mouth, trained professional or not. I was saying it to a few people in college today and each of them replied with something like "ugh" or "ew" it was all negative, which got me thinking, does anyone actually go "oh boy the dentist! I can't wait to go!"

So AH do any of you like the dentist?

Yes, it's lovely going in, getting my teeth cleaned and coming out with shiny cleaner teeth :)

    I do!

Lying back on the chair, dentist leans in pushed her chest against the top of my head.

    Always makes me so relaxed

Anytime I do go it's usually for a filling, they're fascinated by my teeth and how straight they are, I've never had braces and they're amazed by this for some unknown reason

I suppose it depends on whether you have been awake for 3 nights with a massive toothache.

my dentist says the same for me,i never had braces either, although he did once ask how i have a tooth in my head? considering i grew up on sweets and chocolate, still eat them a lot i drink fizzy drinks and worse again, fruit juices including freshly squeezed lemon juice,

i brush twice a day with regular toothpaste on a regular brush and they are perfect, i guess i am one of the lucky ones :D

I do the same and here we are :( Ah sure! It was really sore all morning, and doing a structures exam with a tooth ache was not fun in the slightest

My dentist is retired in Antigua with all the money I gave him, I'd love to visit him. :(

I don't think there's anything I hate more than the dentist.

I don't mind going to the dentist.

If I have a problem with my teeth - they often fix it, otherwise they give them a nice clean/scrape, etc.

I once went to a dentist (not in Ireland) and she happened to be a female brazilian dentist in her late 20s. She was lovely, she was.

Watch the brilliant documentaries, The Dentist and The Dentist 2 before you go. It'll put your mind at ease.

Ever notice the way you never leave the dentist without another appointment?

    True story.

It depends on the procedure, can't stand the drill hitting sensitive spots when getting my teeth cleaned. Makes me squirm just thinking about it.

I have a really nice dentist in Lucan and it's a pleasure to go. I only had one dentist I really hated going to and that was because he was a patronising git.

There was a dentist i had when i was smaller and she was forever telling me that I was lazy and useless and various other mean things :(

I don't mind going, but my wallet hates it. It costs soo much to get work done here.

    czech/romanian/hungarian/polist dentist, here I come.

    "Is it safe?"

3 words you never want to hear your dentist say.

I was just about to post about that.
It's like been cradled by my mother, except my dentist is a man with boobs like Robert Paulson.

I used to be absolutely terrified of the dentist, until 3 weeks ago. I got a wicked bad pain in one of my teeth, it was as bad as childbirth so I had no choice but to go to the dentist. The pain outweighed the fear. My dentist (a random internet search) is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I've been back every week since, happily, to sort out my teeth.

I had an x-ray last weds and when he asked me to take out my earring I lost it somewhere under the machine, he spent 10 mins helping me look for it! Even when I said it was grand, it wasn't expensive he continued on his hands and knees looking for it. Never met a medical professional like him.

Where is this individual? I might pay him a visit

I never minded going, but now that I'm a mother going to the dentist is like going on a spa retreat :)
