Would prefer to get a normal tyre repaired than replace a run flat!

Been there twice in last few weeks - most tyre places now won't repair run flats so you end up haven't to replace them anyway - which defeats the purpose of them!!

Anyway I'm going to stop now as I could fill a page with rants about BMW's!!

Be thankful you were brought up with midges, these flying midgets the Dublin people have to deal with are much worse;)

Hay fever! I can't imagine how much of a clown I must have looked running down the bypass last night while sneezing 13 times in a row. I must have looked like one of those students on scuzz.

Getting a long weekend and coming over to the west for 4 nights, and it's the only place in the country that has pissy weather! Ah, 4 nights away is still great.

Not being recorded by timing company in 10k!!! Today (Maynooth 10k) is the 4th race that I have not been recorded correctly....all 4 races timed by the same timing company. 1st time I noticed it at the event when results were posted and I was 'put in' the results on the day. 2nd time I checked results again before I left event, same thing, not recorded, fixed at the event. 3rd time I spoke to the company before the race, and coming up to the finish line waved to them to make sure they recorded me. 4th time - today! My number is recorded but different name...and to make matters worse I should have been 1st in my category (oldies!!). Had to rush away after event today so didn't get to check results before I left... have tried to get it fixed since but to no avail as yet!

Just as a matter of interest, where do you wear your race number?

:D LOL....being a 'older' FEMALE...I don't think thats it SeanPuddin!! But something is definitely amiss:( I have had 'chats' with the guys at the different 10ks and my number is where it should be, as I am a tad short I asked could it be that the scanner is not picking up the number, I was told no! I wear my number as high up on my singlet as possible....but yesterday my number is actually recorded but the details with it are not mine:confused:

Hi tang1, I wear my number in the correct position, except for yesterday I have chatted with the lads doing the timing at the 10ks and they didn't seem to know why! But as I replied to seanpuddin yesterday my number was recorded but details don't match?? I have to say it's putting me off wanting to run 5k or 10ks timed by this company!:( By the way congrats on your great run yesterday, I didn't have a wonderful experience, nothing to do with the event, just didn't feel great on the day, tempted to drop out, but glad I didn't. Finished (as my number says) in 47.16. Measured it at 10.1k on my Garmin, spoke to another lady at the finish and she showed same. I was spot on with distances until the 8k marker, my watch 'beeped' a good bit back from it! What did you measure it at?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 233 ✭✭kabuxa

Fitza!!! I am the same.... the 2 races this year with them, none of them recorded. I told them who I was and they fixed it but pity it does not show straight away and 'glad to know' I am not the only one. Maybe only happens to 'older ladies' ;o)))) What have we done to them ;o)))
I took a lot longer than you, but as well it said 10.1k on my Garmin, and Samsung race was 10.2k...
I wear the number correctly I think, but now I start to wonder too.
