fetac level 5's

Can I ask what's the difference with the fetac courses that seem to last only a few weeks and the ones that last nearly a year? I'm doing security level 5 but I bumped into a mate who says he is doing level 5 security in fas and it only goes on for 6 weeks? My course lasts a whole year in college? Surely my award would be…

Surely my award would be higher than his? even though there both level 5's?

Maybe he's only doing one module? The sept - May Plc ones are for major full award of 8 modules.

Your friend is probably receiving a Minor Award where as you are getting a Major award. He wont have a full cert only a component certificate. Once he does the rest of the modules he can then apply for a Major award cert.
