    OP

ALWAYS wear a life-jacket when on the water.

    You'll have a great time.

DON'T travel when drunk or at night.

Have done Portumna/Terryglass/Dromineer twice for stags - further south - great long weekends.

Nothing better than pike fishing when st0ned - get your rods out - you may think your hard but then you hook an angry pike!:D

Maybe he shouldn't have posted in AH! :D

But, seriously OP, try Pike fishing...

Best crack you'll ever have - doesn't taste great but fry it up with butter and garlic if you land one...

OP, as said earlier, booze and water do not mix. You seem to have a good head on you so you will be ok.
But will all the others be ok too?

When you all start arriving home in dribs and drabs at 3am how can you guarantee that there will not be a drowning? Drunk people are messy, unpredictable and do not take kindly to been bossed around and nagged about lifejackets etc.

You can not look after all three boats.

Why take the risk? What if something does happen and you ignored these warnings?

Also, a bunch of drunken lads sleeping in a boat is not pleasant. The smell of beer farts alone will down an elephant!

Thanks mate. I hadn't even looked into these locations. Can you recommend a place to hire boats from in these locations?

I have been looking at cruise-ireland.com for the Carrick on Shannon hire but I was also looking at silverlinecruisers.com for the silverlinecruisers.com the Banagher area but I am afraid that the nightlife might not be great in this area. Have you any knowledge of this area?

The smallest amout of time that any of these companies will hire a boat out if for 3 nights. I know what you're saying. I would prefer 2 nights but if you only take the boat for 2 nights you still have to pay for 3 nights.

Ha ha! Yes, the boat will probably smell like the pubs did when the smoking ban came in! :)

Years since I was there but there used to be Emerald Star cruisers available in Portumna.

Lough Derg is a great place for a stag.

Is it? Because Lough Derg is the place that I had originally looked up but then some people told me to look at Carrick.

Where would you suggest in Lough Derg?

Maybe the place has died a death since last there but Portmuna, Terryglass, Dromineer, Mountshannon and Killaloe were always nice spots.

The Portumna Town Festival in July was always a highlight - don't know if that's still going on.

Think there was a fellow called Les in Dromineer that hired out the jetskis, did windsurfing etc...

There was paintballing in Terryglass but checked and looks like its gone now...

Thats savage man, thanks! I was trying to organise it so that I could get a night out in Carrick because I heard that Carrick was a great spot but the rest of the trip was looking pretty flat.

You have reassured me now that Lough Derg may be the way to go! Thanks rockbeast.

I'll say the same to you, is it a **** stag if someone doesn't die on it? What do you guys do? Play Russian roulette on your stag parties?

Nah, it's a stag if someone has fun.

Make sure there's enough umbrellas aboard for those strawberry daiquiris and appletinis! :pac:
