Well maybe that's because the Garda are so corrupt!!
I serious think you need to get your head examined
Just because corruption cases (which by there very nature are hard to prove in a court of law)
But the court service in this country as well as the DPP are bent as well
In my area the local prosecutor also at the same time operates his own practice!

Doesn't mean that it doesn't happen ad that the Garda are bent as f***k

I personally know many Garda who openly boast about taking bribes and dealing drugs and operating brothels etc
When I went to school the Garda sons were dealing drugs

I know of even a few cases where Garda killed people while drink driving and not one was ever charged because their Garda
They even started to harass the family of the person killed as they wanted it investigated but got no where

Look at the Morris tribune was one Garda jailed??

In the case of the penalties points scandal yes it was legal but corrupt as in this country they bend the rules so much that's it's a joke this would be illegal in most other European countries

Look at what happened to the Garda whistle blowers they got death threats for exposing wide spread corruption in the while justice system
Even government ministers are saying the department of justice and the Garda need massive reform
If the Garda are so good then why is there now talking of massive reform and bringing in a police authority and why did both the minister if justice and the Garda commissioner both resign??

On your last point that "Garda are what people made them"
No your wrong its what Garda made of themselves

Garda has only themselves for this mess which them brought on themselves no one else to blame

You sound like you would be right at home in the Dail.

Right so you admit that no corruption had been proven but insist this is because there is so much of it. If that were the case it would surely be easy to prove, as it was with the Boylan case. You see what you want to see and warp the facts to suit your view.

Very intersing point never thought of that before

Wonder what the point of this thread is though to be honest

To highlight a selfless and brave act of an individual.

And anyone who cannot see the difference between the dangers in the job of a Garda or soldier and that of a builder or farmer is just fooling themselves.

That's because the Garda DOJ courts government are so corrupt and they don't want it exposed
I had a neighbour who was killed by a drunk driving Garda in the 90's nothing ever done about it why cause they're bend and corrupt so you're point not valid if the whole system against you it's near impossible to win just look at the RUC in the north they were the most corrupt police force in the western free world yet they got away with mass murder yet nothing happened then by your logical they weren't corrupt!!

What's the difference between a farmer dying on work and a Garda none

A farmer dies in an accident, a garda is killed by someone.

    Brave man.

RTEs use of public funds to provide shíte reporting should be taxed at a high rate to impeed its usage.

    Fixed your typo there.

That's not always true a Garda could die from a car accident and a farmer could be killed by someone

Disbanded & a new force established?

Would be a great idea IMHO
Did wonders for public confidence in policing in the north

There should be sort of distinguised award for this act of bravery. A large set of brass balls on a pin.

Fair play to that Garda. Not a hope in hell would I chance going up against somebody with a gun. You would never know if it's real, fake, loaded or if the weilder is nuts enough to use it.
