    Hi lads,

I put a build together a while back, but i didnt connect up the fan controller. I opened the case again today to connect it up and when i connected the 4 pin molex connector from the psu to the motherboard the PC wont power on. When i disconnected it, the PC works as normal.

Anyone seen this before and can help out ?

I'm also having an issue with the PC just hanging during normal internet browsing. I've run the windows ram diagnostic and it says there's an issue with both sticks of ram (tried them both separately). but when i use a different memory checker it comes up ok (after running each stick for 5 hours) ? could this be a ram issue, theres nothing really in the event logs :(

Have you experienced crashes with different browsers? It is probably the ram as it was flagged by a test. Sometimes ram doesn't fail a test until it has run for longer than five hours, so try testing in that program overnight if not longer. I have only ever had one bad stick of ram, and I found it using the memory tester that comes with the CD bootable version of Ubuntu. This program can test both sticks at the same time. As for the fan controller, It might be shorting the PSU and causing it to not start. Can't think of any other reason it would stop the PC booting.
