    Hi,

Looking to bring GF away for the weekend to a nice castle somewhere in Ireland. Any recommendations?

Ideally I'd like some outdoor activities nearby to keep us busy during the day - hillclimbing/rock climbing/ zip lining/ archery etc.
I dont mind driving up to 30-45mins from the Castle.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Markree castle in Sligo. Horse riding on site

Kilronan castle in Roscommon. Lots to do in the area.

Ashford castle. It's stunning. They do fly fishing in certain season, and I'm sure the usual horse riding, clay pigeon shooting or archery...

Dromoland castle in co. Clare is absolutely stunning. Rooms are gorgeous and its spa and available activities are great. Pricey but worth the experience!

Definitely, we spent 3 nights here a couple years ago and it was top notch. It feels like a proper castle too!
