Hi, hope someone can help with an issue I am having.

Had an issue with my windows 7 disk not working so got on to Microsoft who sent me a link to download the full version. If I take it off the computer to an external hard drive I get an error saying the file autorun dll could not be loaded or is corrupt, [0x7E] when I go to run it from the external hard drive. If I run the program on the computer I have downloaded it too it will run with no problems.

Any ideas why it is doing this?

What are you trying to do? Is this a Windows 7 Repair ISO?

It is most likely possible that in transferring it from your machine to the external hard drive that the file got corrupted. Sometimes this happens when Windows goes into "Not Responding".

I am trying to do a re-install on my laptop.
I have tried putting it on different external drives, flash drives and run it on the PC or laptop I get the same result.
Strange thing is if I just run it from the PC it works but not from any external drive. Any ideas to get around this or does anyone have a link to download windows 7. I have the product key.

It sounds as if it wasn't downloaded correctly. That's the first thing that would come to mind when I see that sort of an issue

It has me baffled too

I have done a re-install using the same download on the laptop before with no issues. It still works on the PC too if I try to load it. Have being on the Microsoft site trying to see if I can re-download it but cant find the home premium version which is not helping either.

Make sure you are burning the iso to a usb or dvd and booting onto it.
