I hate that place had two exams up there this year. Thank god the rest are on campus or in maradyke. I don't mind the rest of the exam halls just Neptune. I know the lads doing second year elec rather than process engineering have 9 out of 11 exams up there I would hate that.

Aye all mine are up there this year, I just get there for quarter to 8 and study in the car. Wednesday is my last exam and Im done college so I shouldnt complain too much

Also, aviva were 130e cheaper than Liberty for my renewal, rang them up and asked pure chancing, is there any possibility of a better price? She knocked it down another 100e and put stepback protection included :pac:
    510e at 22 on a 1.8 Mazda 6 isnt too shabby. I paid 1150 last year on the 325

Just the battery, left the lights on. It usually beeps if the engines off with the door open with the lights on which is why I'm finding it odd.

Ha the battery let go in the e60 tonight too, got a Yuasa battery from the local factors. €105 which is good money for an 019!

I can't say I've ever heard of that make battery before are they any good ? Certainly sounds like a good price?

I must actually check the battery in the golf to see if it's original starts the car first touch of the key either way. As for leaving your lights foxhole notman on I've almost been caught a few times in the golf. I've gotten so used to the auto lights that the odd time I over ride them and turn them on manually I forget to turn them off. Luckily the few times I've spotted it walking away from the car. I don't know whether or not they eventually go out them selves if left. I don't think they beep either when car is switched off I must check that out maybe I haven't noticed it beep.

Yuasa are one of the leading manufacturer of batteries :)

Fantastic battery with a great price to them too, wouldn't pass them.
It's a great price considering the size of the battery the 530d takes. It really is big :)

The Mk 5 auto turns off the lights after 15 seconds or so. In over 2 years of ownership, I've used the light switch no more than 5 or 6 times.

I use auto almost all the time just still getting used to it is all. It's a great feature I always thought auto lights were a bit of a gimmick but I'm completly converted now. It's great the way they come on themselves at night when your unlocking the car and then once you start it.

Lads theres a bit of an issue thats bugging me, this cel light that won't go away, I don't know if anyone can help but anyways here goes, I done a scan on it and got codes p1251 and p1310

P1251 is Throttlebody unable to close full. Limphome mode possible. Clean TB.

Done all this, replaced the old throttle body, cleaned the newish one and stuck it in, learned to the car and all was gravy

P1310 Ignition Dicharge Module Not Powered, DI cassete was replaced not too long ago, but yet they're still there, sooooo? Any ideas anyone? I'm all out

Yeah :/ Apparently there's a wire loose or a damp connection to the di cassette but where is the question, I've looked and looked and theres nothing out of the normal

Code P1310 - DI Cassette is not powered in bank 1. the wiring harness connector has come adrift or there is a short in the wiring

Normally if I clear a code and it pops straight back up i think it's wiring and connectors. Always good to check everything though, from the spark plugs to the ecu. You could try silicon spray if you think it's damp and check all the connector for any corrosion. Always a reason for everything. Hopefully it's cheap.

I'll keep looking, alothough there's very few things that are a cheap fix on this

If you could get a pin out of the ecu you could check for continuity between it and the connectors. Seems to be what the fault code is pointing at but they can be misleading sometimes. Is it misfiring?

I've no voltmeter :( wouldn't have the foggiest how to use one either :o

    No misfires!

You and me both, I want things done yesterday, in college people hate working with me because i need things done one after the other, no waiting around :pac: same with my mechanic once the cars done i need to know, or when it will be done so i can be there to collect it haha

There's always the ignore the feckin light option so. Is there a fuse for it? or stick on a bit of black tape so you can't see it :pac:. Some gremlins just aren't worth chasing if the car is running fine. Your head will be wrecked and you could end up wasting money that could be spend on better things.

Multimeters are handy enough to use. Your normally just checking for 12v/5v or continuity between one point and another. Mess around with a few batteries and bits of wire and you'll get the hang of one.
