    America's answer to Bill Cullen

Didn't realise that Cullen went to Gormanston/Blackrock/Wesley. :)

They also had a fcuking harpist playing as he got off the plane

Look at that cringeworthy shite... you'd swear he was a head of state. It's pathetic the lengths this country will go to in order to debase itself.

Did we pay for all that?

I'd be in no way surprised if Trump had arranged for the welcoming party himself, he's classy that way.

Love the vid below - the Donald doesn't take criticism at all well.

The odious hunting party pic of his siblings and the dead elephant, Leopard and other endangered animals http://www.mnn.com/lifestyle/arts-culture/stories/trump-sons-under-fire-for-killing-elephant-leopard-and-other-animals- and the fact that he picked Piers Morgan as his apprentice means he should be told to fcuk off back to Manhattan.

I was in Doonbeg a couple of weeks ago (for 1 hour). It is something else. You would need to be seriously wealthy to stay there, and there are plenty of rich yanks who will be happy to.

I don't get the begrudery (apart from this is Ireland), he has saved x number of jobs and will add x number more. So he is a hard nosed businessman, probably why he is so wealthy.

(Admittedly the thing with Obama and the birth cert was weird).

And if Ivanka comes over more often, sure thats a bonus!

I don't think it's begrudgery to question where all this might go, when the man has a proven track record in Scotland of ****ing over the environment, the local government and local community to get what he wants, and pulled out at a moments notice when the government didn't bend to his will. And there's no reason to believe that the same won't happen here. Jobs are good, definitely. Jobs at that cost, I'm not so sure...

For an alleged investment of 45 mill, which is a drop of piddle, relatively speaking. Sweet jesus....................

Never a good sign when they can't laugh at themselves.

His track record is very suspect. Cautiously optimistic is how I would describe my reaction to his "job creation". This is the hotel industry too not exactly where we should be striving to create jobs. But investment in any economy is welcome.

Don't understand the fanfare and media coverage, really.

    You're being sarcastic right?

I think he's being as honest as donald trump is about the origin of his hair.

Maybe Dinny O'Brien wants in on the pageant business. Trademark the lovely girls show and bring it round the world.

Worked on the construction of the trump tower in Toronto I can't remember the exact figure but seemingly he wanted nothing to do with it towards the end and withdrew, more or less sold his name on for a couple of million

Will this be on the News tonight at 9?

He inherited less than $200 million, racked up a debt of $900 million, and then turned it into almost $3 billion. Not the other way around.

Yeah, I was exaggerating for effect.

There is just no practical knowledge in so-called "trained" musical artists such as many harpists.

I would not say this was her happiest entertainment experience.

Even a semi trained singer guitarist balladeer like me , often sneered at by harpists or other classicaly trained musicians would know not to perform on an airport apron with an newly landed airliner with its APU running at full tilt keepin all the on board stuff going etc....

You could not compete with the noise of these things and a knowledgable entertainer should not even try.

On the up side they probably ( hopefully) got well paid for the auditory travesty.

Okay, edited the original. I'd always get annoyed on The Apprentice when he's giving business tips to these contestants who grew up dirt poor, like he'd come from nothing himself.

I remember years back some journalist writing about George W. Bush doing something similar. He said "I have no problem with a guy who was born on third base. I have a huge problem with a guy who was born on third base swaggering around like he just hit a triple". That's the way I feel about Trump.

Shouldn't the focus be on the representatives in Clare....

All he's trying to do is make some muda****in' money. He's serving himself and his family. The Clare CC is there to serve the people, if they allow this then it's on their heads, not his

ar*ehole arriving like he's the president waving from the plane, no doubt there will be a load of ar*e kissing Irish twats picking the sh*t from his hole for the rest of the week.
Is Gilmore not normally sent to do the ar*e licking when rich americans come to
town or is that just rich scientologists

Lol at the reception, this hurts my faith in humanity a little. Whoever thought up the idea, why? This is the kind of reception you give to a deranged dictator or a Greek god, Trump being neither though much more akin to the former. It reminds me of that 'we have made false idol of this Brad Goodman' scene in The Simpsons.

"Helloo your Trumpiness, Wilcome to Ireland, we are your servants.."

Fcuk off. He'll open a golf course, there will be thirty jobs and then it will die on it's ar5e and be sold to Dennis O'Brien for €20. Just what's needed, another golf course. We are saved..

The Rose of Tralee-esque scene that greeted his arrival was bloody embarassing,as were the usual sycophantic questions he was asked on the news at 1.
    It made me physically cringe.

I wouldn't have the balls to do that TBH - He looks like he could be a vindicative one.

So no-one said eh yeah Trump .. wasn't there something about that lad in the papers ? and a golf course ? FFS
