Commentators are getting a bit wanky over Speith. I know he's a very good golfer with bags of potential but the way they oohh and aahh every shot is getting tiresome already. It's like they're so desperate for Tiger 2.0 they'll latch on to anyone who looks like they might be able to take the mantle

It's hard to believe Rory is at -8 now. He really needs to get his act together in the middle of these tournaments.

-9 now after a birdie on 18 to finish for Rory

25 birdies, more than anyone else.

    -10 for 16, 17 and 18 which is ridiculous!!

Rory +8 for front nine this week, -17 back nine
    Crazy stat!

Was just gonna say he must have had the most birdies this week. Where do you find that stat by the way?

Well that last shot was brutal - and something I'd do myself.

    That was daft by Segio.

Rumble of thunder heard from the course apparently... hope this won't get weather delayed!

Kaymer looks super cool while Speith is falling apart..
Stupid shot by Garcia as he is well in it here.

    That was daft by Segio.

Needs to take a look at the leaderboard and see he doesn't need a miracle to win

What the hell is Rory going on about learning a course.

What the hell is Rory going on about learning a course.

I'd presume he means gaining knowledge of where are the right spots for him on the course.

Same as me or you playing a course the first few times only when he identifies the right spots he has the skills to put it there alot of the time

Excuses, which is fine for him, but for fans, meh. He's played there plenty of times.

Such bull**** from Rose. You saw it move, you stepped away. Discernible to the naked eye my hoop.

What just happened with Jim there? Did he move his ball after he had replaced it? The fact that the marker was there makes no difference, when a ball is replaced, it is in play.

He has played here before ? - he has played a practice round - a pro am.

He has a pro caddy who know his game backwards - the caddy would have walked course separately.

    Jordan Spieth is 20.

I've heard a pro saying a course shape is not suiting them - but from a former world number 1 - you don't want to hear he does not know a course.

I don't think I could imagine Tiger or Adam Scott say that - it is his job and his team to know the course.
    He is not a Rookie.

Lets be honest, Rory's a bit of an airhead really.

    Hold the press:
Golfer tells himself something to make him feel better

    :)

He should have just said "I left a few out there on the front 9..... today, yesterday, the day before and the day before that.
He'd get away with that on the "how did you score" thread ;)

Wayne Grady has to be the most annoying commentator out there.

Honestly is something like we would come up with on here.

"I didn't know the course"

And also - he has issues with Wentworth

Well maybe on your week off - go there for a few days - or turn up a day early that week.

Bloody delighted Furyk had to leave that. Messing about with his ball to get a line for a 4 ft putt. Should be putt on the clock for slow play for that carry on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,073 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

You gotta love the yanks... No golf buggy for Kaymer, instead it's a souped up hi-ace to the clubhouse.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,733 ✭✭✭SnowDrifts

Jim will have to wait an hour now to finish up with a 2 footer... not much of a change from the previous 17 holes then.

He's not a rookie but he's also not a robot with photographic memory of every course he plays. No matter how many times he plays it he will always be able to learn things about the course. He plays it one week a year ffs.
